DDoS's are extremely cheap to purchase all things considered. I think that a 1000 node DDoS is only like $25-$50/hr and the price may have gone down. Permanently running through cloudflare will suck, as it will cause latency just for the overhead. Then additional latency if not by attackers of WAR, but attackers of others also using Cloudflare's service where we co-habitate. Maybe the devs will only turn it on when there's an attack and not leave it on 100% of the time. Maybe I'm assuming too much...

This is verry,verry,verry bad idea. What if main ddos wave comes from usa? Lets ban US region first! We could continue like that region by region,country by country. Baning certain regions because we presume(without evidence),that attacks come from those countries is not healthy for comunity.

Devs should have connection logs on the login server. I think they know a pool of IP adressess who attack. If it was Asia or Africa, then they may be banned. If it is a Old World or America, then it is a provider problem.
In my experience there was a one call from one forum administrator, who asked about particular IP who ddosed his game server. After a few minutes of discussing the problem with father of script kiddie there is no problems anymore. I think the problem with IP addresses is a provider problem and can be solved with a request.

Yes Im asian player, im korean. I really love this game and was so happy with play RoR recently 1month and lots of korean players here and my japanesse friend too

Yes you can keep play this lovely game with chosen US,UK players through pushing out other unchosen people like us!

I think it's good to find out DDOS solutions while the project is still in alpha comparing to full "release" version.

Wipes help to motivate people exact their vicious "revenge" (best regards to Black Guards) on RoR project and they help to improve defense measures.
We need more wipes, RR ones especially.
