I actually kind of liked it, even though we were mostly pinned down.

I appreciate that you used your mind and regrouped several times to give us a room for trying something. Camping in front of a warcamp wouldn't be so funny.

So hands up for you, Glorian (Lesti)!

Hoi Trusty!

Good to see another perspective of the Event.
Also it is quite clear to me that I should give the order of regroup BEFORE I change my position. Or else most of the dwarfs didn't see it. ;)

And, you joined the guild as well as Kalashnikov. So next time we will have two more dwarfs in the Blue Uniforms of the Bitterstone Thunderers. Plan is then that the first line consists of Bitterstone Thunderes Guilders, all clad in necron abyss. ;)

@Singing:
Some of you have recognised that Lesti sang a fine marching song on last Event. For the third Event I have prepared another one, named Dwarfs of Ekrund. To take part in the Singing it is best if you simply remember two words. Or build a macro saying:

/say Dwarfs of Ekrund!

Full text for Dwarfs of Ekrund (Based on Men of Harlech from the Movie Zulu (1964)): You DONT should build into macros, the text is only for your pleasure to read it. ;)

Dwarfs of Ekrund stop your dreaming
Can't you see their spear points gleaming
See their warrior's pennants streaming
To this battle field

Dwarfs of Ekrund stand ye steady
It cannot be ever said ye
For the battle were not ready
Stand and never yield

Form the hills rebounding
Let this war cry sounding
Summon all at Ekrund's call
The mighty force surrounding

Dwarfs of Ekrund onto glory
This shall ever be your story
Keep these fighting words before ye
Dwar-ves will not yield

Just to bump this Thread a little.

Next Date for the next Event is on Wednesday the 15. of July. 8 pm (gmt+1).
Video of previous Event further up in this Thread.

Official end around 22:00 (10 pm.)

Schedule (all times are approximate):
20:00 - 20:15 meeting in Troll Country Warcamp, OOC (Out of Character introduction), issue of Uniforms,
20:15 - 20:30 March training, Basic Orders, Basic Tactics, Dwarven Singing
20:30 - 21:00 Combat formation, Advance Drill, Regroup Drill, Scouting Troll Country
21:00 - 22:00 Open RvR, and Keep attack, defence if possible.
22:00 - 22:30 Dismiss.

Location:
Warcamp in Troll Country before the flight master. Contact me: Lesti (Picture in the attachments), or Yorim, or Drengk.

Last Time we were in the end 28 dwarfs Fighting around the warband:

Engineers: 17
Runepriests: 4
Slayers: 5
Ironbreakers: 2

Please be this time on time in the warcamp as if we are again that much dwarfs we will build three Units.
And the Bitterstone Thunderers have recruited a lot in the last days so I expect that we will be even more Engineers than the last time. ;)

Bitterstone Thunderers 1st Unit: 10 Engineers 2 Runepriests
Bitterstone Thunderers 2nd Unit: 10 Engineers 2 Runepriests
Bitterstone Warriors: All Slayers and Ironbreakers, up to 2 Runepriests

The reason is:
One big Engineers Unit is fun and have one hell of a damage output. But when we are pinned or dealing with a bunch of Blackorcs in our front we cant advance around the orcs to get to their second support base. That is the Bunch of Healers, Shamans, Sorceresses which are 90 feet behind the melee orcs. The Engineer need to stand still to cast most of his attacks. From our position we can still target and kill healers from the support base, but we need an assault so that their moral breaks and the Healers retreat. With that their melee Fighters are without support and will fall easily.

So the plan is to form a second unit of Engineers which can advance when one is pinned to build up pressure.
And the same goes for the Bitterstone warriors who need to be more free in their movement.
We will see how that works and I ask you to be on time for the drill training so that we can train it several times before we move into RvR.

Destro know we are coming, so don't expect it to be as easy as last time. ;)

Re: 3. Engineer Formation Event on 15.July 8 pm. NEW VIDEO

On Tuesday before the Event Lesti was on a reconnaissance mission in enemy territory and found a corpse of an unknown Thunderer. He promised his tortured soul that he would find peace in the earth of Ostland. But he would find this oath more than difficult to complete, but more on that later.
Image

The Training of some new recruits began as usual on this 3rd Event.
Image

New Tactics and deployment Order was confirmed by the regiment.
Image

And for the regiment it was the first time they began to learn the song of Dwarfs of Ekrund. the Anthem of the 3rd Bitterstone Thunderers.
Image

After some drills we marched back into the warcamp to gear up, have a last pipe and swing the private hammer before the battle begins. But alas! In an instant a whole detachment of Slayers, Runepriests, Ironbreakers and even more Engineers wanted to join the Formation.
We were a full warband in an instant. Lesti declared in a very compressed way what this is all about and how deployment will work.
Image

Mandreds Keep was under the Attack so the 3rd Bitterstone marched. The Foe was running against the Keeps doors and had them broken in already. Valiant defenders tried to hold them off.
Unfortunalely the time stood still when the Bitterstone arrived. The whole world turned into a flur of pictures with nothing happening in between. Order was lost and the Formation took some heavy beating from foes unseen.
But one after the next we shot the Foe down until they retreated.
And the Hymn of Bitterstone rang at Mandreds Keep from the throat of twenty dwarfs!
Image

But then the strange thing happened! After the formation had consolidated itself and the last allies of the order had followed the fleeing destros into their warcamp the foe simply disappeared!
Image

As the onslought of the foe never came the 3rd Bitterstone marched to Stonetroll Keep which was allready under assault from some Mombers of Order. With the help of the 3rd Bitterstone the Enemies where shot from the walls, the door breached and the Keep stormed in an instant.
Image

After that the formation marched back to Mandreds Keep. Eager to fight again and bring their guns to their destiny.

But unfortunately the enemy was nowhere to be seen. So the Event ended in Front of Mandreds Keep with a group of victorious, but untested dwarfs.
Image

Well, that sums it up. This time it was real strange. When the formation walked into the oRvR Area I saw the massive red dots on the radar and thought that this will be tough.
There were about 40 destros, our warband of 24 and at least another 20 Order Players in Mandreds Keep. The servers lag turned it into a powerpoint slide. With some of us dying in between. I already thought to regroup the formation a little bit to the back, but my commands came half a minute later, and the members of the regiment couldn't see me most of the time as my character disapeared.

So finally we break the destro attack and the lag turned back to normal. After our redeployment to the road between the destro warcamp and mandreds we awaited the counter attack, but that never came. And it didn't came later at the evening. And that was more then sad as I was already pumped up from the previous events video which showed some nice combat action.

I know that that singing of "Dwarfs of Ekrund!" of the regiment got a little out of hand. Next time I will enforce an rule that the dwarfs use their sing-macro only once a minute and not completely spam the say-channel. But I have really mixed feelings of how the regiment is recognized by order and destro players alike.

The formation is not unbeatable. In the beginning half of us where dead in the lagfight at the keep and also in the past a decend destro zerg in New Emskrank was also the death of the formation. So it is not really gamebreaking. A full guild warband with ventrillo and good healer assignment is 10 times deadlier than the 3rd Bitterstone Thunderers.

Can a destro player who was at the attack please tell me what happened after you have retreated to your warcamp?
