you mean besides the drawback you bring a sitting duck (the tank) doing no dmg into the fight taking a slot?

Tanks do damage, not as much as a DPS... but to completely neglect their contribution is stupid. They also get brought for the many buffs and debuffs they have at their disposal. A tank is not a sitting duck with guard on someone, or a waste of a slot.

I agree with Shlomo. Tanks bring a lot of group utility and very little else. Take away that utility, and you downgrade tanks out of the meta. Making this more of a death match game and less of a group synergy game.

Is this where we share out personal stories of grief and despair?

I, a lvl 10 BW, ended up pushed back to the guards all by myself and smacking me with his Fist of Kaine was Lainel a DoK. But I am standing next to the guard, what is he going to do right? So I unbutton my tiny little woop-ass pouch and unload on him.

His health bar never even moves. Not a tick. I am going through my rotations, dot, dot, delayed damage, debuff, direct damage and back around. Nothing. And he just keeps poking me with the silly dance attack and I don't know if I am the Sharks or the Jets. I am actually losing a ranged fight with a DoK.

Then, from the side, an IB waddles into the fray. And I think 'Ahah, now he will have to take off. I can save my tender wizard pride.' Newp. Just ignored the chubby little guy who was swinging away at Lainel's delicate ankles to no effect.

Then a KotBS hopped on him with a great sword. And I think,' pfft great sword...noob', and then I think 'AGH Low health?' He is still just plinking me as I am forced to turn and do the leisurely jog of shame back into the camp.

I never saw him take a tick of damage. Not one. By the time I marshaled enough courage to slowly drag myself back to the gate the IB and KotBS came jogging past me and I could see Lainel heading back into Fest whole and healthy. I guess they all just got tired.

I sent him a tell asking politely how he was so tough. I even told him that I wasn't trying to trash-talk I just thought his character was crazy tough and I wondered if he would tell me how he did it. No response.

Maybe he was doing something shady but maybe he just worked hard and got amazing gear, mastered his skills and got his morales rolling just right. I just assumed he super knew what he was doing and was just that tough. It certainly made my BW re-evaluate his life choices though.
