No m8, it's not me missing the point...Torquemadra wrote: You completely and utterly missed the point ....
Once again, runefang buffs initiative, largely, which means they get crit less which is a VERY desirably trait for any tank and a tank being crit less is a tank living longer and a tank thats alive is of more use to group utility than a dead one.
Emperors Champion buffs toughness and wounds, to a large degree, and both of these things do what? You guessed it, keeps the tank alive longer, see above for why thats a good thing....
So we have one tactic that keeps the tank alive longer and a morale that does the same and can STILL use other morals depending on the situation.
So, thats all good and tanky there so no downside to having these things as a "tank" at all and THEN there is the added and rather large bonus to str and ws which allows the kotbs to punch faces significantly harder as well. Wheres the downside? At all? This isnt like putting a glaive on a blackguard which is totally loltastic and renders it pretty garbage for tanking.
Just for clarification, i played mainly a kotbs on the mythic servers and i'm aware which kinds of buffs you get.
Your point is that runefang and morale not only buff the DPS output, but also make the tank more tanky.
My point is that this additional (lol-) DPS output/tankiness is not needed and better invested into something useful (a tactic for the group, a tactic for superpunt, etc.). A DD class has simply the better chances to bring a target down, so it might be advisable to support those classes with additional tools, e.g. superpunt the tank away, buff them with critchance and so on.
Also a M2 that buffs the stats of a single groupmember is very weak compared to morales like the RP/zealot M2.
Btw i don't get your hostility. I just wondered about all the fuss on a tactic+morale combo that has, in my eyes, no real use in grp vs grp sitiuations and i expressed my oppinion about it.
I don't really care if some tanks prefer to run around with it, as in my opinion they gain some strength/defense for themselves, but indirectly weaken their groupmates.
What i care is that the functionality of basic game mechanics (stacking behaviour) shouldn't be changed mindlessly because of this as it could bring some unforeseen consequences. To make exceptions to those game mechanics everytime someone considers anything OP, is also no good solution.
If it is needed, the tactic or morale in question should be altered.
But i still think that in this case here, the complains are caused by 1vs1-like situations ... in my opinion.
