I really want to respond to this in some meaningful way, but it may be lost on you.vove wrote:You are wrong, but your opinion is very common. All the people who you see using that gear use it only because they receive it and are paid to use it (I mean the people who seriously are into e-sports), just like football players receive their football boots. Professional players will use the simplest input devices and play on lowest details even on high end gaming equipment as in multiplayer it gives you hell of an advantage over the enemy who plays on ultra, especially in FPS titles.labotimy wrote:If you buy cheap peripherals, you get what you paid for, trash. Cheapo brands/models, and even gaming variants by well known brands like logitech, in my experience never measure up to the more expensive competition. The standard when it comes to mouse peripherals in E-sports level of competition, should be considered the best. If the pros use a specific product consistently, you know it works better then the competition. Razer and Steelseries are pretty much top dogs when it comes to the E-sports scene regardless really of the game genre. Typically MOBA/MMO players will use Razer Naga's, and FPS players will go with a RIVAL/SENSEI.
I can't say that I've tried any MMO mice before, so no experience there, but when it comes to FPS mice Finalmouse>Steelseries>Razer. Nobody else can compete. I don't think I can actually ever go back to any other mouse, Finalmouse just blows the competition out of the water by such large margins.
If your gonna pay 1200$ for a gaming PC to begin with, 70$ for a reasonable mouse isn't that big of an expense.
As for the mouses you specified what can I say? Personal opinion, if you feel like you really need 17 buttons on your mouse to play a MOBA game where you use max. 6 buttons that's up to you. I myself think it is quite stupid to waste any money on such faulty equipment as razr's naga. I do not know any person who would be satisfied with that product, yet on the internet people praise them and every single "gamer" uses just that one.
The most important in a mouse is to lay good in hand, and that's the determining factor when you are buying one. Then simplicity is your ally. "gaming mouses" tend to cause a lot of problems, most of them lag related and freezing/stutter, so very often they cripple your performance instead of actually helping you.
When you are playing solo: buy all the most expensive stuff you want.
When you are playing competitive multiplayer: go for simplicity.

Re: Mouse Suggestions
I have the unfortunate problem of tiny girl hands, so most "gaming" mice just don't work for me. Even just a two side button mouse was too big for me and I would only be able to utilize the back button. I needed a mouse with more buttons as my reach is limited on the keyboard as well. I had to remap most hotkeys beyond 5 to other buttons.
I've looked at many mice, but most looked too big. We recently went to Best Buy and they had some on display which was nice. It gave me a chance to see just how big they were and if I could reach the buttons easily. I ended up buying the Corsair Scimitar (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/scimitar-r ... ming-mouse) with a 12 side button slide and lock panel. While I can't reach them all with my thumb it gives me access to a whole lot more buttons. I've loved it so far, but it is taking some getting use to.
I played with the DPI until it was about the right speed for my preference. It doesn't recognize the buttons in Warhammer, but I just set them to 1-= in the control panel for the mouse.
Completely useless for gaming, but I love the fact I could customize the light colors.

Re: Mouse Suggestions
Whatever you go with...get it with a warranty if it's more than 50 bucks. The original Naga lasted 4 years, or so, but the EPIC seemed to wear out a lot faster. My family sometimes shares the main computer and they never recharge it so I ended up plugging the cord in anyways. If you pay 20 bucks for the Best Buy warranty you basically get a new mouse each year for 20 bucks...worth it IMO. I stopped buying Logitech long ago because they broke at a much faster pace than any Razer stuff I bought (G Series mice and keyboards). Bottom line, you have some suggestions, try something out. You can't trust anyone's opinion but your own.

Oh I like that Corsair mouse, sliding adjustable side buttons, awesome. I love customization in my PC products, didn't exist years ago when I first started building computers.Leashedragon wrote:I have the unfortunate problem of tiny girl hands, so most "gaming" mice just don't work for me. I'm leaning more towards the Roccat NYTH if I ever invest in an additional MMO mouse, but if I had hand size issues with my mouse this would be pretty sweet.

@Labotimy
Just to be clear, not everyone can afford such things :> so I don't mind getting lesser quality items as long as they get done what I need them to (I just want to be able to turn my camera, really).
and in case that was directed at me, my laptop was nowhere even close to being 1200

Re: Mouse Suggestions
Realistically unless you want to pay more money for extra features, you just need a quality sensor that tracks well. In my experience 3310 sensor combined with a SS QcK+ mousepad is one of the best option.Twyxx wrote:@Labotimy

Here's an article with some very inexpensive, albeit not as high quality as other offerings, but very cheap gaming mice.

One of the major flaws of cheaper mice, along with crappy sensors, they never have a standardized DPI setting or the ability to set it manually. Most people won't even realize the issues with this, high end min max gamers will for sure. Not being able to set your mouse to 400DPI standard is a major flaw, makes it ridiculous to have standard sensitivity settings accross multiple game titles.
Here is my personal recommendation, reasonably priced in my view, with one of the best sensors on the market.

I had no idea you could get a 3310 for as cheap at 40$, what a steal.
Re: Mouse Suggestions
I second using a Razer Naga Hex. The software has a lot of options for remapping buttons and keymaps for different applications. There's even an option to toggle the backlightkkprfx wrote:i'd recommend Razer Naga for mmos.
it's quite small and will prolly take some time to get used to it,but its worth it.
