Starting up a new server.

They RoR community is already small as is, why would anyone want to split that up any further is beyond me.....

Beacause we can't play the game? Beacause so far some of us haven't seen a single response that is informative regarding ddos from the people responsible for this project? Beacause no one so far have provided us with a solution regarding this problem? Game is unplayable at this state and people seek answers, when they don't get them they start making ideas

Personally I don't think starting up a new server is a good idea, I would rather just fix the current one, sad part is that there is really not a lot of information regarding the issue, and future doesn't look very bright

You might want to familiarise yourself with this project, First off Alpha learn what this means, all unpaid volunteers who work on this in there spare time, player experience comes 2nd development comes first, issues will arise and you can expect large amounts of downtime, granted the past week is the worse state the server has been in since the very beginning.

If it frustrates you, come back when the cunts who are ddos'ing have stopped, i dont know what else the staff here can inform you of.

"how dare they demand information" please... go be a cuck somewhere else, all I have said is that it doesn't look good which is a fact, the ROR team is responsible for this project to happen and they deserve all the credit for the fantastic job they have put so far, however that doesn't mean they do everything perfect does it? You must be one of those people that think constructive criticism is somehow negative, well let me tell you it's not. Azrael, Elven and others still have my full support, however I really wish this project to suceed and for that we must solve problems regardlingly. I mean a sticky thread on forum regarding this situation, how we can help and some kind of progess being posted there would be enough for me.

The worst part in all this is ROR will lose player base cause of that, something I very much would like to avoid

I have already contacted those cunts, tbh it's pretty obvious who is doing that once you read the "ban appeal" section of this forum, I think admins know aswell who's behind it all - I hope once they can proove it tho, they will pursue with legal action against them

Poku the staff have already stated there are issues and there is no timeframe on when the server will be more stable, constructive criticism im sure is welcome but it doesnt help when ppl like yourself seem to demand explanations, they owe us nothing, we are all guests here, you and others who appear to demand/complain etc just have to deal with the current situation.

If you go over past forum threads/topics all this bs, new servers, ddos protection, better servers, more information etc etc has been said before, its boring to see, suck it up and wait for the server to be more stable, whenever that may be.

^This. The information is there. Like I said before this is a small team. They can't be everywhere at once.

A new server? No, that wouldn't solve this problem. If it were me doing the wrench work on this project I would be inclined to apply as many monitoring tools/software as possible or enable the native debugging code to get some insight on just what is going on. It seems to me this more than a simple DDOS on the the socket interface as the various upstream apps seem to be effected as well. I can well imagine the frustration on the part of the team here but when your given lemons... make some lemon-aid... I for one would still log on to help populate that data collection process. Turn everything on and let it fall over. Rinse and Repeat so any useful info can be gleaned. And, this is just my opinion, but given the timing with Blizzards announcement that they are targeted.. I for one don't think this is specific to RoR

Hes stated before on stream in past he could ddos the server, and with this ban (1 week suspension that hurt his ego too much) it's obvious who it is.
