nice changes for mdps. does its mean no keep defending? just need hold battle objective and for some time and your realm win? u still can leech from battle objective rr/xp/infl? (easy targeted afk persons)
and when is wl/squig changes or i missed some pach.

Saw you made the changes to the rvr system. Just letting you know what happened to me, and a few other said same. Today in eataine I logged in and keep was at 1 star. Helped take a few BOs and siege the keep. Physically attacked the keep Lord his entire health bar and then went to help reclaim some BOs for lock. Personally I received no Renown for keep Lord or lock, others said the same but unsure since I am not them. Also no medallions upon successful lock (or bag roll). I did read in chat that a bag roll did happen.

So is this normal the keep giving no renown or contribution?

DoTs breaking detaunt is a pretty significant hit to dot-reliant classes, such as the magus, engineer and dps variants of am/shaman.

Detaunt is all about instant relief of an enemy/enemies' damage via a 50% reduction. If dots happen to be on a target that suddenly becomes my aggressor, it is illogical that my detaunt is broken purely because of said dots ( yes dots are still damage, but if you are dying to dots in a group in a game revolving around burst, then you're doing something wrong)

Whereas any other class can damage a target, detaunt said target if needsbe and swap to a new target, dot classes can now no longer really enjoy this luxury - should first target happen to still have dots ticking (which they will....magus dots are notoriously long-lasting)

Naturally, if you have a tank who can guard swap, it's not so much of an issue, but as a magus or engineer with huge range it's important that our detaunt not be broken simply because target happens to have a 22 second long dot on them; a lot can happen during this time!

Good decision to remove the 'snapshot' mechanic of DoTs, though. Nice rvr changes, too.

Been hoping this would be changed for years :D

DoTs seem to be dismounting now btw, don't know whether it was intended?

Love the changes. Everyone complaining about dots nulifying a detaunt... Every mmo is like that from what i remember and yes it was on live too. Same from what i remember in reguards to stealth. Say my toon puts a dot on a we or wh they stealth... They immediately pop out of stealth due to that dot... That is also how most mmos counter steath classes. In regards to steath i hope i read that right in patch.

I am just excited my mara wont be melted dye to dots and me doing 50% damage dye to a detaunt :P

So far i am looking forward to gettin home and trying out the new changes. See you order on the battlefield :D

-Abilities can now trigger off of DoT ticks, such as Quick Escape. This is consistent with the original game's behavior.

-DoT abilities now can be dodged, disrupted, parried or blocked on a per tick basis. If the first attack is disrupted/dodged/parried/blocked, no subsequent DoT ticks will happen. This includes parry's positional requirement. Each tick will take into consideration an avoidance check, and facing the target is no exception to this rule.
Retail DoTs could indeed fluctuate in damage based on buffs/debuffed that occurred after the initial application, that's a good update!
Being able to defend each tick individually after having already failed the initial check seems very excessive, dots are weak as is...
[RvR]

- Removed Renown microticks on BOs when Realm Rank is equal to 3 or more.
- Unoccupied BOs will now change their faction to neutral.
So players are once again required to camp BOs but now they get nothing for it..? Not that it was much in the first place.

Indeed. Having played a grenadier engi for most of retail I'm quite sure this was never a thing. Sounds like Engi/Magus are gonna be keep only classes now, can only mitigate incoming damage by breaking los.

The rest of the changes sounds really good, though!

when you detaunt a target, your pre-existing DoTs will continue to tick without breaking the detaunt.

Pretty much ^ I can't recall this being the case on live, or if it was it must've been during a specific patch. It's one of the reasons why DPS AMs were OP in 1v1: they would dot an enemy up, detaunt, heal up, gg.

Well if you did not stay at keep to finish lord nor kill destro in zone your contribution could be too low to earn a reward.

Nevertheless, new roll system will display somehow more info about your contribution, so it will be easier to diagnose. All in all I played t2 and t3 today and got rewards from both.

DoTs and Detaunt didn't interact this way on AoR, no.

I think it could be an interesting change though, worth trying at least. People will presumably just have to be more judicious in their use of DoTs.

And oh how I do feel sorry for those solo DPS AMs :(
