Pounce would need a snare/root component to be useful with any kind of cooldown. Any non-instant gap closer (i.e. Intercept-like skills) needs a CC part to enable the user to catch up with the target, at least in a tab-target MMO with (comparatively) high latency and ability lag.
In its current iteration Pounce doesn't work as a gap-closer on a moving target (and it gets silly against anyone with IMS).

To be fair pounce is a 65 ft no cooldown gap closer + escape mechanism + positioning tool and you still have charge

it provides an insane level of mobility that no other class in the game has, every other mdps would be happy to have it with or without cc or cd

Hehe 10 seconds CD on pounce
How do you have such selective reading. It's like your looking for reasons to argue.

I said if WL is buffed...BUFFED. They would need a 5 - 10 second CD on pounce to make up for the added utlity, damage or survivability.

Your responding to it like we suggested a nerf to pounce in the current state of the class.

I think 10 seconds would be too long of a CD.
5 seconds CD (with the CD starting when you land at the target) with a snare that does not run the length of Pounce CD (maybe a 2 second snare to give them a chance to knock the WL back or root them).
I'm not even sure it needs a CC component added to it. I mean you're jumping, what is it 65ft?

I need a 2nd good defensive tank. :(
I know that feel. The Chosens in my guild like to run two hander 24/7.
Our tanky as hell Blackguard decided he wants to do damage now, too, and bought a two-hander today

I was thinking more along the lines of a 0.5s root to give the WL a chance to apply Cleave Limb (snare). Though with the abundance of CC-immunity in WAR that would probably be useless in most cases. A more fair nerf would probably be to increase the AP cost, as 30 AP is nothing.
Pounce is only an escape tool as long as the enemy front line has overextended or is standing in your mid/back line.

None of our tanks are dps. We have 2 defensive Chosen and 1 defensive BG. The problem is the BG is an Aussie so his play times don't match well with ours s lot of the time. The other Chosen doesn't play as much as the rest of the of us.

We have one really good defensive tank, Bodyguard. :D

Joined a couple WBs this weekend. I guarded a Sorc a couple times, just staying close to him holding the line. When a WL pounced to us, i usually had my M1 ready and Champ Challenged him. Once the M1 was about to be gone, i followed with a KD. After a while, WLs stopped trying to pounce to us.

Same thing can easily be done with BG (if you are guarding someone you will block = you can use KD) or BO (Just use Changing Da Plan! and wait with Best Plan! ready).

I think there'd be a way to code the 0.5s snare to ignore immunity. I think that and an AP increase would be quite fair.

In regards to the escape tool - I think that it would be kinda cool if a WL could pounce to an ally (obviously dealing no damage), but doing so would put Pounce on an extended CD. So you can use Pounce to escape, but you will not be able to use it again for a while (maybe 15-20s?).

Right, I'm in the wrong guild. See you later, DDoW.
Send g invite.

Besides, being an Aussie, I don't see a problem with the BG's playtimes! That said, I work nights so I actually get to play during US primetime, which is great for gaming. Not so great for my IRL social life, but who needs IRL when I have Warhammer, right?
