Or just have the items drop from players only, non bind on pick up. This promotes trade on the server.

The medallions were put in to create a new time sink for the game. It wasn't incentive to rvr, people were at the cap and they were trying to create ways to keep people grinding and paying sub fees. Unless we are bound by server code to have an alternate currency. Then just remove the medallions from the keep take reward and only have them drop from players.

This sounds alright. Factoring in mechanics to aid healers and tanks (as they wouldn't get as many kills) I see this encouraging actual fighting before taking keeps. Taking a keep on its own will lock the zone but give no medallions (maybe XP and renown still though). However a huge battle followed by a zone lock would result in a decent reward. If there is something that can be factored in for tanks and healers than this sounds like a winner!

And the stored kills resetting after each zone lock should be a given I think.

Also, how long do the stored kills stay there? Sometimes we've had huge RvR battles thats resulted in assaults on the keep but failed and returned to RvR battles and then finally fizzled. What could trigger a 'soft reset' of the stored kills?

That's not a bad idea, if the stored kills for all players reset when a zone is locked.

yes that sounds promising as it combines rewards for fighting and the need for locking the zone and giving objective a purpose without rewarding (or only very minor rewarding, but probably no reward maybe the best) the taking of it without fights.

we already discussed this for not being helpfull as objective lose all their purpose.

As you've seen in scenarios, a kill made by a member of a group counts as a kill for all of its members, so the tank/healer dilemma is not much of a problem.

So I am loving the idea's being thrown around. But the important issue right NOW.. hopefully before we decided to discuss this the destro had their Medallions and medallion armor wiped and keeps no longer drop medallions till a fix is in place? Cuz that happened and needs to be fixed before discussing how to fix this in the long run. I would hate to log in tonight and realize ppl are still "Discussing" yet no SC's are popping and a faction is PvEing again or worst SC against players with better armor who didnt put in the effort/time to get it.
Ill gladly take a revert on updates to cut out players being cheap and working around the system.

But wont people join warbands and stay in warcamp to AFK or do scen and get medals anyhow?

There's a range limit for kill contribution.

As for reset conditions, I dunno, to be honest.
