The above describes many (maybe most) of the posts in this thread, but you seem to be ignoring the other more reasoned, dialogic ones.

This thread also seems to clearly indicate that changing/removing NB is indeed an option if the staff/community decides that it would be beneficial to do so. That seems to be an important point to me but I haven't kept up with the past threads on the topic, so can't be sure that that hasn't already been made so clear in the past.

I haven't seen your "wall" so please do link or post it if you think it contains anything relevant and enlightening.

You should make a forum bot, everytime a thread containing the word nerfedbuttons is posted it automatically posts your wall of text and closes the thread :D

And just to reiterate, the main reason ppl like myself feel the need to defend NB is because NB isnt the reason these threads popup, it comes down to someone not being able to understand how they died and usually involves getting killed by a bw or sorc in an instant.
I can respect the views and opinions of ppl who dont like the addon for proper/legimate reasons but not those who create NB whine threads ONLY because they cannot understand how they died and then call out cheat.

I think the main complaint here is that automating gameplay is botting, and shouldn't be allowed. Not that BW or Sorcs do a lot of burst damage. But sure, build that strawman bud to try and deflect the numerous well made points for why NB is bullshit.

I tried NB again recently, and found it fails when you use it to look for buffs/debuffs now, even after applying the fix. But maybe I did that incorrectly?

I've been kind-of against the addon, but if I'm right and it doesn't work correctly when you use it to look for buffs/debuffs, then I think it's ok.

This is not botting. Botting implies the character is unattended and making gains without input from the player. This is macroing. A feature common in most other MMO's that have a plethora of skills and abilities. If you confuse these two terms, then our actions as GM's are also confused. Botting is very heavily punishable (permanent ban) use of macros is legal, and literally exists in several other addons as well.

You seem to be confusing two aspects of NB, and their respective definitions: the addon's ability to create and repeatedly execute a specific and fixed string of abilities is indeed a form of macroing; however, its ability to be programmed to, for example, conditionally execute (or block the execution of) abilities --thereby removing player decision-making and involvement-- is far more akin to botting (if "botting" is defined as "automating gameplay", "having a program play the game [to an extent] for you" etc).
