Whats more important then the actuall mechanic is imo the campain. Imo doing RvR to get better gear to kill other players better isn't intreasting enough to keep the campain in motion. There need to be consequences for loosing and there needs to be rewards for winning that arn't based on gear. And it will also need to affect all aspects of the game to get pepole involved. So the big question is. What are the common intrest for all players. The ones playing PVE, Scenarios, oRvR or 6v6.
Gold is one of em. Maybe add a taxes on eveything. From Vendors to AH sells. The game is in dire need of gold sinks. The better your realm is doing the less taxes.
Same thing can be done to Token vendors. You want to get that helm that costs 70 emblems. You have 70. But to bad your realm has a 10% tax rating making it cost 77. You either need to grind more medalion or help your realm lower the taxes. Either way gets you to the battlefield.
Xp and Renown loss. This is an old scool MMORPG punishment. But what if you would actually loose a small amount of Renown or XP whenever your realm is loosing. The people who actually defends and try and help wont really feel the effect of this since they gain moast of the amount back (asuming we go back to a system that rewards the loosing realm on flips) The people who gonna loose the moast is the ones not contributing to the campain at all. This should aply to logged out characters aswell But there should be a cap on how much you can actually loose simular to how rested XP works.
Crafting and gathering loss. Lowers the chance of getting better crafting items or talismans/potions based on how bad your realm is doing. This would worked alot better when talismans had timers as you would need to get new ones every now and then even with maxed out gear. With both talismans and potions being on timers there would be a bigger demand for em. And you can add that to work with the campain.

Voted for 5 . Because that option was interesting. We could rob caravans, upgrade keeps etc. It was very fun. Everyone could do something for lock zone. Kill a persons with siege cannon/ram, and he must going back to keep and bring siege again. Was fun. I hope people will vote for 5.

So basically, everyone should be in RvR all the time, and only in RvR all the time, and not do dungeons, or just sit and relax and grow plants?
I do not care how hardcore of a PvP player you are, everyone takes a break once in awhile. You can not punish these people.
Also, on the live game there were consequences for having your city sacked by the enemy. A city would need to have an X amount of stars (1-5) for some dungeons to work, some vendors to sell, and even the guild hall to be open, (when the guild hall had stuff to sell that was cool

@drmordread
Do you think that your entire realm stop playing coz you and your 5 friends decided to do a Dungeon one day?
@redmage3
It actually solves some of the xrealming issues coz if you decided to go over the to winning side you're toons on the other realm get punushed for it. It basicly forces you to choise were you're prioritly lies.
