Not to mention the issues with entering Tier 1 & 2 with Tier 3 abilities. Can you imagine the people complaining about rifting in T1??

I would think that the Debolster would have to cause a few things:

- Make any career/mastery ability unusable above the Debolster level
- Prevent the twinking of characters
- Prevent queuing for lower tier scenarios while Debolstered

(so actually: just set the REAL level of the player to the max level of the tier he is in if he has a higher one). That way any skill or any gear higher then that level will be unusable automatically. Will also solve talisman etc. problems.
As Renork pointed out, people would still twink heavily (lair weapons, helmet, etc). It would be better to just limit them to renown gear.

whats the problem with that? If the gear is apropriate to the level of the tier, nothing speaks against it? on the contrary let people grind it, if they want to? (That PVE gear should not outweigh pvp gear is another discussion) ^^

(your argument implies, you also want to stop people from grinding BIS gear in t4 ? ^^).

I already know what I'm going to do. However, recent events will delay this implementation, I will have other stuff I need to work on first.

I never mentioned anything about T4. Your logic is flawed. I want to avoid twinking in lower tiers because new players will get destroyed, discouraged and leave. If you get destroyed in T4, that's a completely different thing (no one should hold your hand there) and all i can say is: "l2p".

Also, if you let people grind and twink in lower tiers, then the debolster is pointless and we should just go with /xp off. However, i believe that's not something the devs and many players want. I think what most people want is a system that let's you play in a particular tier but doesn't let you become a god.

@Moondog: The debolster in Return to Ekrund LE only let you use skills up to level 10.

Debolster with all consequences is similar to twinking out a toon with xp off. Congratulations for making a 360° turn.
Dying is no option.

I would propose a max gear level of:
Tier 1 - 9
Tier 2 - 19

This would allow any player that is debolstered to wear the renown/set gear for that tier. It would prevent a player from converting down emblems to buy scenario weapons for that tier. It would prevent a player from wearing any of the Bandit gear.

Exactly. It literally is the same exact thing.

31 tank gets debolstered to 11, that said tank buys grey level 11 gear and places armor/tough talis. That level 11 tank is now never going to die and new players will get bored.

/XP off, same exact thing happens.

You could debolster to level 9, and although you can still partially twink at that level, it won't be as bad as 11.

Or can we just go back to being able to get influence from lower tiers? Say I join a t2 wb as a chicken just to get the influence.

Edit: Honestly, I don't care at all about the rested xp bonus. I just want to cap my influence without leveling out.

You missed the part where debolster would limit the gear you wear (in my suggestion) making it completely different from a /xp off.

Anyway, i don't want either debolster or /xp off. I enjoy powerleveling to level cap as fast as i can. But i understand that some people want to stay in lower tiers (don't understand why though). So this was just my 0.02.

No rift/magnet in t1/t2. No group heals in t1. Influence cap.
