bad moderation with no accountability

I'd like to take this opportunity to clarify that I am not the one responsible for a lack of accountability, and if I had my way, we'd have a public forum to list actions taken against players, a forum appeals process and another section of the forum for genuine discussion of the forum's management, moderation and rules. If you or anyone else agrees with me, apply pressure. If you think it's good as it is, don't.

Please, I agree with this and think its necessary. Ive modded for many games, in and out of alphas betas, we all know it isnt easy, but I feel like many times the GM's are throwing around rediculous punishments for pointless reasons.

There have been cases where an Order Group was beaten badly, in that group was a GM. Because this GM was losing, I was actually bitched at for telling a Russian, who was spamming say chat with big blocks of russian character, to use /8.

Telling people the correct Chat to use is pretty standard for non GM's to do, yet i was repremanded and told, "Im not allowed to tell people what to do"

lol I asked him for an example of what I am allowed to do int hat situation, he gave a pathetic response basically telling me to never question anything he says. My reply was that I received half of an answer bid him good day. 2 seconds later i was on the moon for 3 hours, Reason? "Giving him Lip"

granted, the moon is one of my favorite places. Some mods let me just hang out there while im chatting with friends just enjoying the scenery. But I sure dont like being silenced and thrown there for a Hypocritical reason.

This SAME PERSON, was super nice to me earlier , when he wasn't losing, and when i was on my Order Toon. Coincidence?


On a second note, I need to know how someone might go about appealing a Perma Ban. Friend of ours got a Perma Ban and likely deserved it, however we need help as he was Leader of a guild that needs ownership passed.

Anecdotal - but a player with an off-topic name (debatable on whether you consider it inappropriate) was playing his toon for a # of days without issue.

He runs into an opposition GM in a scenario - proceeds to kill said GM numerous times because he was opposition - and then his name is changed.

Unfortunate - as his name was quite humerous.

Now - should his name be changed? Maybe the community of admins believes so, and if so, fine. But the reality is that there is a major inconsistency on this issue as others with literally the same prefix in their name are still playing sc's to this day. Why then was this action taken? Specifically due to the fact that a GM was running into said toon and dieing to it repeatedly in an sc.

Again - unfortunate.

Especially when so far, most of the people "applying pressure" for more transparency are also the same people getting mooned for telling a GM to **** off when told to stop kill trading. Not exactly the people that are going to have a lot of traction with those that think our current degree of transparency are find.

Considering this post was written directly after my call for transparency - I feel obligated to make the following statement.

I have never kill traded. And I have never told a GM to **** off. Period.

To my knowledge, outside of this thread, nobody has spontaneously asked for more transparency in our actions, who has not previously had some action taken against them for misbehaving. In other words, every punished person thinks the Court of Public Opinion will be on their side, and people who have never been punished don't voice an opinion about transparency at all until someone else raises the question. Because of this, I think the options for increased transparency need to be started internally, because pressure won't really come from the players.

what will the difference be between alpha and beta on this project ?

beta = feature complete but still bugs.

then , we far from a beta : no dungeon is working yet .
that also mean , after the beta , we might have another wipe cause we ll get in "full completion" state ?

And yes, I did laugh about it. Enjoyed a few moments on the moon and went about my day (I'm a Dad, always other things to do lol)

but it was still pathetic, and everyone in my alliance agreed that it was possibly the dumbest reason to get silenced.

Full wipe.
Maybe, keep characters only (nickname and class), but drop their levels to 1/1, wipe mails, inventory, banks, professions - everything.
But, sure, there must be milestone for that, something like "we are releasing T4, 40 rank and 100 renown rank and making wipe before that"
