My instinct is that RoR should develop in line with narrative flow, the realer the situation then the better RoR will be.

Agreed, I like the idea of having to wait until the zone locks BUT what about people who want to switch to the other side but in a different tier? Would this rule not apply or would they have to wait until that tier has locked?

I'm still of the opinion that a temp lockout is best for this server. Maximum 24 hours -minimum 4 hours.

Ultimately, as long as players can just create another account there isn't much a lockout will do.

In line with the time-place narrative flow-style of aor/ror i'd have to say keep the tier locks separate if possible, when all of T4 locks the other tiers are still active so keep em separate.

Problem is that if a char is locked out of a tier that it was last present in then how do you access it? i would kick em to the start zone prologue areas upon loading like /stuck x2 does but that would lock em in T1 so...

maybe add something at char screen to show you which tiers your char can access at that point in time.

I have mentioned, dozens of times, we will have ways to check for multiple accounts. We already do to a large degree, and know of most players with more than one account. The client patcher would allow us to take this to the next level.

why? because i didnt played on live and so i created characters on both sides to understand classes,so that would mean that i might lose some char lvl 40 and i guess im not the only one in this case...
i agree with the fact that we need a realm restriction but not a permanent one...A daily one should be enough to resovle the problem u have with x realmers...
i m also sur ppl will creat a second acount if u do the permanent restriction, and event if u can know who got more that one account on a ip, u cant rly prove wh'os is actualy playing, so ppl will can say its my bro who play order and i play dessie......

This topic is the pinacle of a percieved problem. As per usual, there are no proper reasons for a lock other than "muh realmpride" or "xrealm is the devil". Orvr premades or premades in general don't hop on a whim and stick to their guns already, or even chase the aao. A proper analysis on how big the "problem" actually is might be in order.

This community is playing both sides actively for years now, and realm pride won't come back.
It was already dead back on live. More hassle and inconveniences won't bind players to this project. A better overall campaign might, though. I hope at some point we can have a level headed discussion about this topic, rather than always circle jerk around the same arguements.

If we repeat the same mistakes live had, we'll just end up with an empty server again, lockout or not. The two faction system is bound to fail eventually. Better get going on a creative solution rather than having lockout discussion number 120.
