Why? Give me one reason, why it SHOULD be like that, in a game wich priority is clearly designed about PvP?

The vast majoritiy of players do PvP. Most players only do PvE to get its benefits, to use it in PvP.
Every BiS gear wich is locked behind PvE content got non stop critics here, because when we are honest, almost everyone would skip pve totaly if the BiS would be from PvP. So like many people mentioned before, they feel forced to do PvE, and the majority hates that as far as i can tell. So why this SHOULD get pushed further?

Gtfo it already

Rubius wrote: Sat Jul 18, 2026 10:27 pm Totally get the feedback that some players would prefer to be able to get these purely from PvP, and in general I expect we'll see some natural growing pains as the team begins to shift away from "War Crests for everything, everywhere" and back into specific types of content being required to earn specific things. (Scenarios, as an example, will be the next to move back in this direction soon.)

I do personally think this is the right approach long-term though, with these Talis meant to represent the very top of that pyramid, with fairly minimal stat gains awarded to those who are willing to do a bit of everything to earn them. As always, we'll continue to watch, listen, and potentially adapt or offer more options in the future, and we appreciate the feedback!
I personally believe that having carrot and stick game design in game that focus around the PvP isn't healthy for the game, i already thought that event ring was really bad but last few years with the release of the new PvE items that can be better in some situation makes me worry the direction of the game because right now it starts to remind me direction what modern MMOs have taken.
And i truly enjoyed more when the endgame set was the conqueror because you could focus the main point of the game that was improve your player skill by playing the game without needing to min max loot gains.

While all these PvE items, armour, weapons, rings and now talismans they all provide small boost which is true, but you can't deny that it adds a advance over the other players who don't use them, be it minor advance but advance is advance in PvP game so everyone will want em, and this can cause frustrating moments for players who don't want to do the PvE grind to get those items. But to make matter worse all these new items stacks up your advance, so that minor advance from +8 stats starts stacking up when you add the rings and other PvE items to pile.

But reading your comment it seems like this matter has already been decided, and the champion marks will stay even after all the negative comments (there are some positive comments too, but seems to be minority right now) so since its like this, like someone suggested there should be a renown rank requirement, and i would suggest of minimum of 95 renown rank to reward those veteran players who truly commitment themselves to all aspects of the game, because 1000 war crest is joke especially when you are going to refund victorious/triumphant ring costs.

But as a oRvR enjoyer i'm really worried because there hasn't been any new content for players like me, and will there even be point of returning with all these new power creep items is another concern also.

Many experienced and sensible players who care deeply about the well-being of RoR have written extensively about the alarming state of PvP.
It seems they did so entirely in vain.

The decision regarding level 25 talismans does not actually encourage players to make full use of the game's potential, as the developers suggest.
The goal is to ensure that a player who wants to feel a sense of progress *MUST* play PvE—and in a specific mode; for that is ultimately what the developers' decision boils down to: "Run PvE speedruns, and do whatever you want in PvP—just don't complain."

Frustration and irritation—guaranteed.

They're tradeable. If you can't handle doing some pve runs, just buy them off AH when they pop up. There is an argument to be made when character bound obviously BiS gear is locked behind lengthy pve grinds, because you literally have to do that content yourself to stay competitive. This is not the case. It seems most of you just whine for the sake of whining as you feel entitled to BiS gear with no friction whatsoever on your part.

I got my sov and warlord sets by doing cities back in the day, i got my anathema weapons by grinding SCs, back when currencies were separate, you really think that players like me are "whining" because we "feel entitled to BiS gear with no friction"? We "whine" because dungeon speedruns are the least fun part of this game, and no amount of effort by dev team will change that.
Also, do you genuinely think that, for a player that's already BiS (the type of player those 25 talis should be for) the endgame should consist of speed running crappy dungeons?
It's baffling.

I'm curious as to why people who can't complete PVE think they're good at PVP. PVE in ROR is very simple and adds a nice variety to the process. However, it would be beneficial to include a champion mark as a reward for the weekly PvP event.

Plus, you're forgetting that the main goal of the new talys is to get people who no longer have anything to grind back into the game.
AM, BW, SL, SM, WL, Engi, RP, WP, Kotbs, WH, SW, IB - all 80+ and BIS.
BO and WE for easy game.

Good for you. You have an established account, so I have great news for you. You don't have to do dungeon speedruns yourself to get these talismans. You will be able to just buy them off the AH. You're all throwing tantrums and claiming that you're being forced into PvE to maintain BiS, when that is literally not the case here. So yes, it sounds very much like people are whining that they can't just immediately acquire whatever new item/gear is implemented through whatever it is they naturally do all day anyway.

No worries I'm well aware, and that's what I'll end up doing, it's just a shame.

We're "throwing tantrums" because of the course of the game of making dungeon speedruns "the endgame" for veteran players, it won't be fun, I'd wager that majority won't even engage with it or will just end up buying them with gold, it's just a shame and missed opportunity, that's all. (I understand you didn't read the 10 pages of responses to this thread but that's the gist of it)

To me, nerfing the armor talismans again is the bigger problem. An +8 or +16 in the main stat isn't going to make much of a difference. PvE is way too easy in this game anyway. In this game, it's all about who you play with, not the gear ;P
