Totally get the feedback that some players would prefer to be able to get these purely from PvP, and in general I expect we'll see some natural growing pains as the team begins to shift away from "War Crests for everything, everywhere" and back into specific types of content being required to earn specific things. (Scenarios, as an example, will be the next to move back in this direction soon.)
I do personally think this is the right approach long-term though, with these Talis meant to represent the very top of that pyramid, with fairly minimal stat gains awarded to those who are willing to do a bit of everything to earn them. As always, we'll continue to watch, listen, and potentially adapt or offer more options in the future, and we appreciate the feedback!
I personally believe that having carrot and stick game design in game that focus around the PvP isn't healthy for the game, i already thought that event ring was really bad but last few years with the release of the new PvE items that can be better in some situation makes me worry the direction of the game because right now it starts to remind me direction what modern MMOs have taken.
And i truly enjoyed more when the endgame set was the conqueror because you could focus the main point of the game that was improve your player skill by playing the game without needing to min max loot gains.
While all these PvE items, armour, weapons, rings and now talismans they all provide small boost which is true, but you can't deny that it adds a advance over the other players who don't use them, be it minor advance but advance is advance in PvP game so everyone will want em, and this can cause frustrating moments for players who don't want to do the PvE grind to get those items. But to make matter worse all these new items stacks up your advance, so that minor advance from +8 stats starts stacking up when you add the rings and other PvE items to pile.
But reading your comment it seems like this matter has already been decided, and the champion marks will stay even after all the negative comments (there are some positive comments too, but seems to be minority right now) so since its like this, like someone suggested there should be a renown rank requirement, and i would suggest of minimum of 95 renown rank to reward those veteran players who truly commitment themselves to all aspects of the game, because 1000 war crest is joke especially when you are going to refund victorious/triumphant ring costs.
But as a oRvR enjoyer i'm really worried because there hasn't been any new content for players like me, and will there even be point of returning with all these new power creep items is another concern also.
