A few points don’t change anything. In other words, they don’t widen the gap, especially between fresh Level 40s and those who’ve been grinding.
But they do give others who need some kind of goal in the game an extra reason to play—or simply an additional activity beyond killing opponents.
The cost of talismans isn’t excessive at all.![]()
In practice it is useless over a 24 talisman but COSTS a fortune. A reasonable talisman that makes sense for this cost would be 28 stats if we're going to be modest( i vote 30).
The problem with your opinion is that they shouldn't appease to the fresh lvl 40's if it happens at the expense of logical in-game decisions, like having an Insane overpriced item that literally brings no benefit to the character, then claiming it to be a goal, when literally nobody needs this in practice. A contradiction.
If they are so afraid of the ''casual fun police '' crowd, then I would have preferred Pure cosmetic items in that case ( that we talked a lot about in the past, to expand them for endgame toons) over a pointless item, at least those cosmetics wouldn't look like a late Aprils fools joke at the NPC window.
Sadly the only real vibe this sends to the playerbase, is that the progression and effort put into Acquiring this talisman is not to be taken seriously.
It's not about the +1 stat, which is meaningless. It's about the age-old MMO tradition of displaying one's rare, hard-to-acquire gear as a status symbol to display to others.
The grind and insane cost are the whole point. It's what holds the real value, not the irrelevant stat increase.
