Magus: Single-target rotation [Video Guide]
Click here to watch on YouTube
Just a short guide in which I explain how to use the single-target burst rotation on Magus, as a few people were asking around in game.
TO NOTE:
* Forgot to mention that you should always have the pet 20% damage buff up if you can
* At this current level, it's hard to get the rotation to crit all the time, but as more gear becomes available with higher crit potential, this rotation really does blow up!

In other words... stand still for 10 seconds
Good vid though
Hopefully the devs can make the class less stationary dependent or at least give it medium armor vs light armor. Personally I would like the magus to work similar to the way Warlocks used to work in TBC... with all DoTs being instant cast (so you can cast them on the move) and use your CC on healers while you bursted down dps.

Good vid though

There are several rotations you can use and this doesn't necessarily work with people who have lesser gear. The main problem I have, though, this is that there is no insta-pet to carry your KD and damage bonus with you. In most situations, you don't get to sit around and blow people up, you end up having to kite or follow.

Haha in this regard, yes - it is a stationary DPS if you want to do any decent single-target pressure!magter3001 wrote:In other words... stand still for 10 seconds

Yeah man, tbc/wotlk had it good with dot casters.

Of course, but once you have enough crit and soft-capped int then the BOC/SOI/SVF rotation is the best. I mentioned the BOC/POTW combo, too, but if you are playing competitively (lul a magus in a competitive environment?) you don't want to be using a disarm as part of your basic rotation (immunities and that jazz) Guide pertains to high levels of gear.Tankbeardz wrote:There are several rotations you can use and this doesn't necessarily work with people who have lesser gear. That is unfortunate, indeed. I hate having to swap out int tactic or something useful just so I can spawn my pet instantly.

They should make the pet follow or build it into the class instead of needing a tactic. That would solve a lot of issues with the class. Lowering the CD on the KD or changing the stagger to a KD instead could be another answer. A heal debuff would make the class much more useful but that probably won't ever happen.peterthepan3 wrote:Of course, but once you have enough crit and soft-capped int then the BOC/SOI/SVF rotation is the best. As far as rotation, I prefer layering dots and applying burst so you have several things hitting at once...to each their own. I also use the disarm -- but mainly as burst as it is a decent 2s cast burst shot.

Oh no I do use the dots (I use them at the end of the vid), just at the beginning of the video I am showcasing the direct damage abilities that you should use =P I like your suggestions tooTankbeardz wrote:They should make the pet follow or build it into the class instead of needing a tactic.
