How to change gathering profession ?

Hi all, I actually have the scavenging profession and I would like to change for butchering, but everytime I talk to the butcher npc it doesn't change my profession, it just open a dialog window.

I searched on the forum and saw that I should be able to reset my gathering profession with the following command "/say .respec Gathering" but that doesn't work either.

So am I missing something that should allow me to change profession ?

When i changed from scavenging to butchering it was a simple case of talking to the vendor and selecting to learn it from them, which vendors are you using, perhaps try a different one, if you are in destruction, there is one located in norsca and the inevitable city.

Hello, 6 months ago it was the command .respec Gathering or .respec Crafting
With a dot and a cap.

Erm...quite funny. When I asked to learn a profession, I learned all 6, without any errors. Perhaps I unlocked then only or did I actually learn them?

Thanks for answers, I went to capital city and the npc there worked while the grey lady npc won't allow me to change.
