Buying higher tiers

So i have this mara alt in the mid 50s. Now after the currency convert i was thrilled to see i could buy the last vanq pieces needed. Only to realise i couldnot do this couse i didnt have full conq, and i cant buy conq couse i dont have full Annihilator and i cant buy the Annihilator parts couse i didnt have full Devastator. SO now i have to spend a few hundred crests on gear pieces i will NEVER even equip. I get the idea of the change but its hurting new 40s insanley hard. im afraid this will kill of the fun for alot of new ppl that now have to back track alot of crests to get to the current gear they want

Check the patch notes thread. They are working on that. Just be a little patient

Exactly!! It’s not reli an incentive continue playing. It already cost more to get sov gear, and now we need to buy the gear level by level.. which I should have bought all those low level gear in previous currency system.

Need to remove the tome unlocks up to vanq too many people are needing to buying totally useless armour set and wasting precious War Crests. Im not in this situation as i did make all the armour set origonally before invader and sov were available. But a large are finding this a major block to getting the armour they need.

Add me to the unhappy list... I just spent most of my tokens to buy conq set , and I was going to avoid this set due to terrible set bonuses. Can I get a refund ? I'm never going to wear this set.

Yeah, this was a REALLY badly implemented idea. It's like ZERO thought went into it. I don't know of a single build leveling or otherwise that relies on ONLY 1 set at a time. This whole idea was about "playing how you want" and yet it did the exact opposite. Winning SC rewards 7 crests but still gives a lot of xp, you'll actually out level the gear and weapons you are trying to buy at the current reward rates before you can buy them all. The idea is fine, but the way it was put in was not done well at all. Needs a serious overhaul already. I mean, how many people used Keeper's as a bridge from 16-29 so they could upgrade their tokens for better potions and buy the weapons and what not wihout the worry of having to upgrade their armor? Now, you can't do that at all. You have to go back and buy EVERYTHING from level 1 on up or you are forced into pve. How does that match "play your way"? Gunbad armor (forgot it's name) was touted as a pve version of conq for years, yet it doesn't count? Or what about Beastlord? What dps build doesn't use good chunks of that before sov? Guess what? Doesn't count either. Last I did those quests, they had a follow up that required you to kill like 25 to 50 people of specific race or class. How's that a not pvp oriented set? I haven't even looked at the Vale sets yet, but I bet they aren't counting either and if I'm not mistaken, Beastlord was a requirement to get them which also makes them a pvp oriented set as well regardless of the pve component. More thought needs and should have gone into this change. On the surface it appears cool and a nice addition, but it was done without a lot of thought that was needed and could have been avoided had the player base gotten some input.
