Log-in Troubles

The initial install patching process is taking FOREVER. I understand there are notes in here about what to do, stop seeding, put folder in C drive, etc. I did all that. I also reinstalled everything again. Also, it says it shouldn't have 17k or 170k files to patch. It doesn't. It has around 2500. but it does about 40 files an hour so this will be in done in 3 days? I'm sure something is messed up. Is there a more advanced trouble-shooting guide available? Please feel free to redirect me to a more suitable area. Thanks for the help.
