tactics??

I wouldn't mind if we ...

Removed main-stat tactic and put the stat-points into level progression cr1-40 or rr40-x.

Made tactic swaps doable in combat with the cooldown. Changing tactic sets depending on situation increases skill ceiling and opens up big big plays.

Added fifth tactic slot for the build diversity.

Added the renown tactics to increase morale-gain/drain from nearby killing/dying of orks/dwarfs etc

Now would be a good time to do so because the balance isn't there anyway! :o

100% agree with this. With every class having the extra stats incorporated into their main stat pool it would be balanced as everyone has it. The tactic could then be changed to off-spec stats or just removed entirely. This change frees up a tactic slot for every class allowing for more build customisation with more room for fun tactics.

100% disagree with all the other proposals. 5 tactic slots if too much, especially with main stat being part of the regular stat pool, renown tactics should stay dead (bring back tome tactics though), and swapping tactics during combat would be a balancing nightmare.

give an example of 5 tactics being too much and i'll look at it.

For me it seems that it would make it possible for a player to cover more aspects of the game, be it dealing damage, survivability or mobility. this seems to enhance the experience of playing - i could be wrong though! :geek:

Swapping tactics is, on a larger scale another side of this. A coherent wb could swap tactics to go on the offensive, more effectivly shut down an annoying kite-group or themselves retreat.

Atm the meta is stacking deathball, very little utility unless it's baked in current meta builds and it's quite boring, atleast with the option to swap tactics you could change it up more depending on the situation without risking your AoE potential for an indefinite time to do so.

5 tactics is too much for the same reason that the stat tactic should be incorporated into base stats. Tactics are designed to be the most scarce resource a character has due to how much they influence character playstyle. Speccing offensive, defensive or mixed will completely change how a character plays and how players allocate their tactics for one or the other is what makes a limited tactic selection important. Tactics like the stat tactic are just boring stat increases that are mandatory for most classes, which means that a player loses 25% of their available tactics right off the bat. The removal of tactics like this where possible increases build variety for more fun, class specific tactics.

Made this suggestion a while ago, it would serve to make use of the Tometactic, a tiny bit of handholding for newerplayers as to what to focus on while leveling 1-40, and all of the +Mainstat tactics would take the 5th tacticslot and potentially open up for more customized builds instead of just a flat passive mainstat bump as most builds are running, and some endgame builds are skipping
