Not sure if there's an issue with the servers right now but I'm getting "could not download file from server. (War-64.exe)" on my fresh install in the launcher. I had already done everything suggested above except from deleting the cache folder which I have now also tried without any help. Tested some more and the issue does not seem to be connected to sound or what character I play. It does appear to happen on all my characters with or without sound ...

Just tried disabling all sounds, this stopped my squigherder from crashing. The sounds that make me crash seems to come from pvp, as soon as I get close to pvp I get weird sounds and I crash.

I have the same issue on my squigherder. It sounds like the sound is completely broken like robot sounds and stuff and then it just crashes. I can play other chars just fine.
