Rifle engi is very viable, engi is in my very biased opinion one of more well balanced classes atm. Magus is just overtuned

this opinion is in regards to solo play? or do you think also in WB it is a viable class?

Mostly solo/smallscale but rifle spec is ST and generally in warbands you want aoe pressure or so I have understood. It hits as hard as ever, but for aoe pressure you need to bring the bombs, not the rifle

Well my hope is that the blunderbuss build for wb will also be vaiable, since many of the Granade skillls don't stack with eachother, meaning they limit the ammount of engis slots in WB.

There is also the rod that does stack hits well and is very under used. In my ws spec blunderbus hits ok, just cant keep it up as all engi abilities cost a lot.if anything maybe the ap cost check would be in order compared to magus. Havent checked but if I remember right engi abilities cost 5-10AP more than magus mirror abilities. The. There is the armor pen question, engi gets good arpen, but cant have both good arpen and high crit. the riflespec does not necessarily beed high crit as the base dmg is so high anyway.
Also there is very nice utilitybuilds for engie in WBs with flashbang/aoe snares and def debuffs that might be overlooked atm since "someone else" is bound to run it. Tho this I dont know for sure as I very rarely join any WBs, even more rarely outside keepdefences
