I don't see how to proposal would negatively impact anyones experience, but I can see the benefits.
True, but it is not that the bigger alliances on destro are gatekeeping or closed off, most of them are recruiting. From my knowledge, most of them also help members and just join a run or grp for 1boss for those 15mins. Because they are nice. RvR lock is done passively ...

Ofc, that would require joining such guilds ... alternative is creating a guild with enough members yourself.

I do not think it is sooo difficult to get those 25 coins.
Unsurprisingly, a member of one of the largest guilds in the server doesn’t find difficult to get guild coins.

Tbh, this was a bit on purpose :) of me doing so.

But what I want to point out with doing this ... while I understand and like that there are legacy guilds or guilds that should NEVER be deleted....
It doesn't make sense to cling to such guilds with 1-5 members.

Just keep it "alive" and existing with some alts and do jolly cooperation with some other players on the server, same guild :) Or try to revive it. Having too many low populated guilds hurts the server more than most people understand. Such guilds won't get into any active alliances because it is a wasted slot and better filled with more active ones too.

I don't want to sound mean with saying this.... but it is the truth and fact. :) In the end, everyone is allowed to do what she/he wants to do BUT ... yeah ... it is called guild coin on purpose, not solo coin or inactive coin :P HARR HARR
>> I think it is important to have mechanics and/or content that make ppl to join up more. Being in the same guild or alliance should be seen as being part of a closer community/family and important. Ideally rewarding.
The benefit of legacy guilds is that they keep people playing the game who would otherwise quit. Many players in legacy guilds are your average gaming, working dad. He may log in for a few hours a week, or go months without logging in. He's not interested in looking for a new guild or building a new social network in the game. He doesn't have the energy or time for it. Other players are only interested in playing with old friends.

Does this describe every player in a legacy guild? Would every player in a legacy guild quit if the guild disbanded? Obviously not. But it does describe some of them.

Providing an environment where these players can continue to enjoy (and continue to play) the game is the benefit that legacy guilds offer the server.

I believe the core question that has to be answered first is: do we want that these rewards are hard to get and gatekeeped behind joining a big guild? Or do we want them to be accessible for every player that is inside a somewhat active alliance?
I feel like the latter would make more people happy, but ofc others might have different opinions on this. I have no hard feelings either way because I am neither in an active guild nor alliance, so I stand unaffected.

At the end of the day, it's just appearance. There is no benefit to them as far as I know. Keep it guild only. Possibly, make it a month reward, if your finish all weeks of the months RvR contributions, then you can get a guild coin.

the guild mounts have 45% dismount chance. instead of 60% , so its not just appearance only
