What if you were benefited from not being Xrealm?

It is true that mass xrealm after an unsuccessful attack completely transforms the battlefield and greatly demotivates those who still remain. Most players, with no intention of maintaining their battle position, abandon the losing side and start playing on the winning side. It often turns out bizarre how the lake becomes empty on one side.

I've been thinking that perhaps a benefit for logged in time could keep the player less Xrealm.

What do you think if every X hours with the same character on the same faction, a crest bonus for kills increases, for example?

Let's say it is determined that every 3 hours logged in on the same side, you start to earn double the crests per kill.

In the case of logging out, regardless of the time logged in, this count resets if you return to another faction. An in-depth study would be needed to see if it wouldn't be the case to reset every time you log out, regardless of whether you return to the same side or not. It is important to have a timer for cases of DCs.

Well, it's a suggestion that may or may not be taken forward, with an emphasis on benefits and not penalties. It could also be considered to be applied to other benefits such as XP/Renown...

Big plus for the idea.

Especially the mindset of rewarding the player instead of punishing him.

3 hours could be a bit long; maybe 1 hour is already enough if the benefit gets lost with logging out. I don't know what the average playtime of a normal player is, but after 3 hours it could be tending more to the end of a session.
Also, it could be worth thinking about if the buff applies to scenarios as well. I personally would tend to make it an RvR buff only because playing till you get the buff and then only playing SCs would undermine the cause.

Oh, and it should only apply if there are even numbers. If one side rolls over the other with a 120% advantage, it shouldn't be rewarded with bonus crests on top.

That's right, folks... The idea is to benefit those who stay! Time and balance for the buff to increase need to be studied and thought about... but that's the idea...

Actually yes.
Cant see bad things about proposal if the following conditions are met:
- lockout is removed
- starts from 1 hour of being RvR flagged (abusable, if possible tie it into being in a lakes)
- resets if 10+ mins of offline+no RvR flag+upon switching realm
- buff is automatically removed in SCs
- buff provides x2 crests from kills (bad part, kill > else is one of culprits for current orvr "meta")

+1 100% but don't make the rewards take 3h to be seen! tlet me play and enjoy them.

Reward the player for playing the game and not for gaming his play.

Actually, you're right with your last point.

Giving double Crests for kills sounds reasonable at first but probably makes people want to zerg even more. Maybe giving a bonus of up to 2x for flipping a zone could also be a solution. It could also stack over time like + x0.5 for half an hour, x1 for a full hour, and so on (to a cap, of course).

This could lead to ~120 Crests with a x2 bonus (if I remember right, I got around 60 crests sometimes), and if that is no incentive to flip a zone while staying on your faction, then I don't know what is.

Double the crests in bags so locks are rewarded instead of mindless blob on blob

No. This would just incentivize stacking sides more than already happens. The reward bonuses for fighting in AAO scale linearly at best while the difficulty scales exponentially. The only rational response to this system would be for folks to lock in to the winning side all day to get the best rewards possible.

This is a well-intentioned idea but the path to hell is paved with good intentions.

This. If anything you should be rewarded for Xrealming to underdog side.

Then in OPs example of losing side xrealming after failed siege, you'd then have people on winning side xrealm as well to get AAO + Xrealmer bonus.
