At first my impression was kinda like the post earlier from @Cokhollywood but this shifted rather abruptly (regarding mid tier) after my full focus was on T4 RvR and I could no longer have fun in SCs on the side (as you do in mid tier). Getting either completely shutdown by BIS players or having to mindlessly run around in a blob isnt fun.
Minimal PvE depends on your viewpoint but unless you farm obscene amounts of war tokens you will want to farm gunbad for the conq ward and crypts for at least the ring and depending on career also other items and thats just the beginning.Cokhollywood wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 5:57 pm I don’t like PvEing to get my best gear for PvP. I love being able to level through the game purely PvPing with minimal interaction with PvE. That’s the beauty of this game.
Funnily at lvl30-32 you are kinda at the peak of your playerpower until like vanq gear as far as I could tell because you just cannot afford to upgrade every damn ward through PvP because the tokens are rather scarce (esp. if you dont know all the ins and outs how to maximize).Cokhollywood wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 5:57 pm As much as veteran players want to say the scaling puts you on a level playing field with lv40 sov geared players—it doesn’t—if it does… it requires an immense amount of game knowledge that new players don’t have. Being incapable of dealing damage to another player past 98% of their HP while they two shot (wearing your 5pc pvp set for your level and full at-level jewelry) you is ridiculous.
IMO that is just one of the core issues of the game. Small scale seems rather dead as new player. All parties that recruit for roaming are only searching for experienced and geared players. Which I totally understand in a gaming sense. Most of the RvR seems to only consist of warbands too scared to fight each other and running in circles capping BOs until the keep fight starts. Which is IMHO not fun and undersells the posibilities of the game.Cokhollywood wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 5:57 pm RvR at t1 is all small, fun team fights with players of similar scaling/output. This is non-existent after you hit lv16, and most players you fight are nearly impossible to beat.
I'd rather see the gearing process getting a rebalance. Low RR level people need more tokens, increasing the one time rewards for scouting BOs, killing players, etc. (idk what else is there) need a serious buff so you can more easily afford the conq and vanq sets to have more of a fighting chance against BIS geared people. With everything after T1 kinda being T4 we also need T4 rewards (IMHO).Cokhollywood wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 5:57 pm I don’t know what the solution is. At first glance, to me, the solution is to create a tier 2-3 bracket of RvR content for lv16-39 players, that operates similarly to the t1 bracket.
All in all I also think the early game is the best part of the game as a new player.
