I was wondering what you think about crossrealming?
I think it's nice that we can play both factions and to have a character on order and on destruction side but it has some consequences. For example in the middle of the day there was balanced fight for the keep in emp, we had 3 wbs on orders side. As soon as the keep has fallen wbs got disbanded and in elf we had suddenly 400% aao.
I don't want to jump to conclusions but it seemed like 90% of order players relogged to destro for easy points. 1 wb kept on going but it was around 8 ppl, no chance at all. I'm not saying this was caused entirely by crossrealmers but it is possible.
I myself play on order side and have some destro lowbies for when I get bored but I've never relogged to the winning side just for the sake of easy emblems/rp/influence or whatever.
I wanted to know what you guys think about crossrealming? What are your crossrealming habits: do you play an evening on one side and the other evening on another side? Or maybe you switch depending on the aao buff?

Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
I think this thread is quite original, never has this problem been discussed before. Looking forward to it.

Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
this topic has been discussed over and over. But just to point out 90% of the people who play both sides do so because they want to have fights so they switch to the underdog side. Not as many roll the other side just for the free ride anymore as the value for a free keep take is so greatly reduced compared to a defended one.

Blatant delusions. 90% of the people who play both sides actually switch for a free ride. Rewards are good, but be on the winning side is better. That's why on sieges most pug wb's lose 50-90% of players after the first wipe. And then suddenly the opposite faction gets a great increase in numbers. Guess why?

Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
@ TK, I used to be in your camp, but recently I have noticed it's the free ride X-realmers that are the majority. That being said, I like farming AAO, getting 2-3 levels of RR and a billion medallions and will always opt to level this way if the conditions are right.

As you said for the 400% AAO when a side losing yes they juts log their both side to win easy rewards. That why OrvR is really crap atm because during the day order doing rve some night you can find 1 heavy battle and nothing after no defense just a bit players on both so you do some Rve .
I think players need to work on themself for fix this issue and it's true this Xrealming killing the Orvr.
just imagine on T4, maps are so big BO are far and if the rvr will be same like atm on t3 with all peeps switching to both side just lol ... The rvr will be totally dead. Rvr t4 is really difficult, complete influ is really long and with future geat set money you can forget to get rvr gear if you cant find people on def keep after 1 lose, forget influ rewards if you cant find both side players to kill .... At the end you will be bored to ride on rvr t4 100 influ per BO and 75 influ for keep whitout defense and 0 money for gear ...
Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
The WB being bugged stops alot of ORvR fights in their tracks as well. But I do believe that the new chat system(new to this server at least) will help a LOT with ORvR fighting. since we can actively communicate w/o spamming a single channel. Alliances will help this even further.
Don't panic too much about Xrealming. The more systems we have in place to encourage ORvR fights, and to assist in such the more you will see them. As it stands, SCs are the best place to get a halfway decent fight. For a bunch of reasons.

Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
Eventually serious players will switch to the underdog for the challenge. We haven't seen any real serious organized RvR yet, but as soon as a few guilds build up to having a full balanced warband in vent you can expect that to change.
But the current hippie RvR rules dont really allow for organized RvR. There is no point in being tactical in the lakes right now with players respawning in the keep after death, needing three objectives to damage a keep door, and keep doors resetting to 100%.
Back in the day with the original rvr rules, it was necessary to get organized. But as time progressed, Mythic just kept catering to the zerg and designing mechanics around it.
There once was a time you had to guard the postern doors, you had to have a warband or two camping the other realms warcamp and preventing them from entering the lakes, there once was a time small 6 man groups would be roaming the paths to the keep preventing stragglers from helping a keep defense.
If you restore the old school rules where you needed points from objectives, points from keeps, points from quests, points from kills and points from scenarios, then those of us who love leading organized rvr efforts might have some incentive to get back on the lakes and restore a since of sophistication to war. Then being an underdog wont matter because its tactics that determine victory, not the size of the zerg.

Re: Thoughts on crossrealming?
How to fix crossrealming(mostly):
1. Instate rules that you can only have one account per IP, ban multi-accounters
2. Set a lockout time for when you log on an order/destruction character there is a wait time before you can log your characters from the opposite realm.
Now warbands won't dissapear from one side and reappear on another side at the drop of a hat.
I don't see why the devs couldn't implement something similar, hell even on live they had a 24 hour lockout for characters on opposite realm. They'll probably get around to it when the game is more finished, but either way, its required for an increase in quality of the RvR.
