Not sure in the early times but towards the end shatter enchantment was not undefendable, fighting parry spec slayers on my blorc and found it a nightmare to shatter rampage cause it got parried alot, you can see it in this vid where i get rekt by ouroo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K1nPFjTrOo (I wish he would of showed the clip previous to the fight in DW which showed what a dps snb blorc can do)

well according to morf later in the game it wasn not undefendable, i played during the early days of WAR so i guess it got changed

We wiped too many times at ToVL boss 8 because he parried my Shatter Enchantment (sometimes i was the only class in group with a shatter/sever).


They are certainly not undefendable.

If you are talking about killing power in RvR or just pure dps, this ability has no affect on those. A witch hunter can survive 10x better because of this, and thus is a lot more powerful in those very same pvp/dps situations.
a witch hunter beats a witch elf that engages him in melee during the first 10 seconds of a fight when he has this buff up 9 out of 10 times.

But - does the witch elf possess any tools that a witch hunter does not? Tools that could be used from range and could give a witch elf necessary kiting time to do great damage to a witch hunter and avoid said RB and disarm?

These are questions a pro witch elf must ponder. I've heard of things like witchbrew. Perhaps with a dagger throw. Yes -- Yes. There may be something there. Dig deeper padawan. The most obvious choice of fighting style is not always the most correct one.

shatter enchantment was not undefendable like Morfee said earlier (was a change made later in the game).

What I find interesting - people discounting entire trees of classes as useless because the abilities have no group synergy (i.e Bretin's comments on RB and the witch-hunter tree that contains it).

The question must be asked - Was mythic just trolling when they made that tree? It clearly has no group synergy use right? So why was it made? Why would mythic build an entire tree around abilities that would be utterly useless in group play?

Or is there some greater force at work here? Did mythic perhaps believe their massive multiplayer online game should be multi-faceted? Not just contained to 6v6? (btw - I'm a 6v6 brony. #6's for life. So I find it repulsive that other forms of game play exist... but as a matter of devil's advocate I feel compelled to bring up these repulsive ideas).

I dunno - Seems odd to me. Non-viable group play trees on a # of classes. What were the original developers thinking? I mean just look at RB... it is so obviously not a group play ability. Right?
