RvR/Character Idea Improvements.

My ideas/suggestions for RVR.

I played live 2-3yrs, most of my experience then was scs/rvr ganking(solo). I had a lot of alts with some chars in t4 rr65-70. I am using more group based builds now and am enjoying my time.
Id like to throw a few ideas out there that others may share and maybe to provide insight into a better rvr experience. These are things I think would benefit the game from my perspective only. Most of this is based on t4 gameplay but should apply to all tiers. I realize all these ideas need to be converted to code and some maybe more realistic than others. In no way am I complaining, whining, flaming. They are just suggestions. Thank You.


Battle Objects. They should give rewards based on lock/claim/def (rr,xp, medallions).
Rewards.
Lock. 1medallion, least rr,xp.
Def. 1 medallion, slightly higher rr,xp
Claim, 2medallions, highest rr,xp

Battle Objectives locking style.

Either side captures/defs a BO 2x it locks for 15mins, it can be in any combination capture or defend. 2 captures = lock. 1capture + 1def = lock. 1lock + autoclaim = lock. 2mn should be timer for capture.

After 15mins BO unlocks to capture state (green). First BO locked 2times by same faction claims 30mn. If a BO is captured for 15mins without any attempts to take, it becomes claimed (30mn).

Battle objectives claim state.
Happens once faction locks BO twice. Battle Objectives in claim state can be used to teleport from Warcamp/(keep).


Character development. This is my personal favorite idea. I like the pvp I feel the classes are somewhat balanced. The only thing I have a problem with is Character dmg. The way it is there is little room left for ‘mistakes. Some people can disarm/silence/ect and within that sametime kill you!
I feel this is not appropriate, a single character should not be able to take you out in seconds. My suggestion. Increase the wounds rate for all characters. Most people have around 4.5-6k health? (guessing)

I would suggestion raising the wounds rate by a significant amount, maybe up to 10/15K+. This would allow for battles, this would allow for ‘mistakes, people could no longer take you out in seconds. People would have to work together more to get results. It wouldn’t be a who can get these 3 moves off faster than the other person. In most cases there is no time for strategy or anything, it’s basically whoever disarms/silences/etc. you first wins. Which isn’t fun. Increase the wound limit for all players!! Let the real battle begin!

Update:

Didn't realize current patch was coming. But am finding it nice. I remember it live there were carries as well but A.I., the human implementation is very nice.


But the BOs could still use some work I believe.

(updated) Longer capture time 5mn. BOs should lock/claim(15mn/30mn), teleport(travel) would still be cool (maybe only from certain places/conditions).

Spent sometime building up a new Char, recently got back into t4.

The current RVR state seems to be BO switching. BOs do not stay locked long enough, there is way too much swapping.
BOs should stay locked a lot longer. Explained my opinion ofhow this could be done, also put a post in a different forum and was basically told to 'read the rules'

Been in this game since 2010? This is the only game I play.

Have gotten no feedback on any submissions.

The change to having to carry supplies really helped RVR. But now, its just trading bos. People take keeps if they have the zerg. You cannot take a zone with a small group anymore due to the population triggering supplies. (if im correct)
So we are forced to be in the zerg zone now, because no one will go to a 'dead zone'.

If you are defending the zerg zone. No one bothers to get BOs, they just def keep which is pointless.
I'll update once i spend a little more time in T4. But nothing seems to be different except the 'supplies'(which is great)

Just bumping for some feedback? Thought i put the other i made in the correct forum but guess not?

No need to bump topic, just edit the past one please as multiple posts from the same person in a row is discouraged. The BO lock timer is there to actually help the underdog as they can claim it and annoy the zerg faster as with greater keep rank the need for supply increases and any disruption will make this feel more.

And about the wounds thing, I personally disagree with this as in lore and mechanics wise it is fair that something like a slayer or sorc will blow you up in seconds if you are not careful or guarded. :-D

If aao were to include a substantial Debuff/buff to to each side, wouldnt need to trade BOs constantly.

Its just a constant trade off of BOs. Doing RvR is like pounding your head into a wall.
BOs need a lot of work.

Keep rank doesnt seem to influence the effect of anything.
My desire to trade and share ideas have diminished a lot. Would go into greater detail,
but seems like a waste of time.

Also, adding debuffs to the realm holding more zone locks, could also increase the difficulty to the zerg.
And if the realm 'losing' zone locks would receive buffs. There are many solutions.
Debuffs/Buffs would be based on a scale of zones held.
