I think it would be nicer if you could surrender much sooner in scenarios.
Often, in unbalanced scenarios it is apparent within the first 1-2 minutes that the match should be ended, but the timer makes this impossible.
In my experience I find that more often that toughing it out until the surrender option is available is not fun, and usually still end up just getting rolled for which ever reason it is that time.

Yeah, some scs are decided before you leave starting area, but you are always free to leave if you don't want to at even give it a try for 5 minutes.

Nordenwatch is a good example, if you get bulldozed at the initial fight at fortress and had the option to surrender probably a lot of scs would end there, as it is now with 5 mins if there's smart people on your side they'll split up and take LH or barracks, which can lead to fun chaotic close matches.
