This comes up every weekend when one side is getting absolutely wrecked by constant premades. Frankly its demoralizing and not fun in the slightest.
Can we get premades removed from the normal queue? Why not force premades to fight other premades? Can we up the Discordant Skirmish to up to 3 people with a higher probability of the weekend scenario?
At the very least, please address the matchmaking system. Its punishing.

Re: Scenario Queues and Premades
A while ago one of the devs said they are working on a new system for SC, but it's not clear when it will be finished. Your best bet in the meantime is to completely ingore SCs. Except you are in one of the premades that run SCs, everything else is wasting your time.Jstink101 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 10:58 pm This comes up every weekend when one side is getting absolutely wrecked by constant premades. Re: Scenario Queues and Premades
Two weeks before never. The SC system is the intended SC system, one which promotes and/or demands group play and is structured to punish individual play. That isn't going to change.
Which would accomplish what, exactly? SC's represent an effective means to level and gain renown. They constitute one-third of the game triad, and to essentially eliminate them from the game is both counter productive and counter-intuitive.

Re: Scenario Queues and Premades
As far as I know, there is something in the works regarding SC. Just wanted to point that out to OP, but yeah... no one knows when. And when it comes to renown leveling and farming crests, I'd rather suggest players going for oRvR than wasting their time in SCs getting farmed by premades. Except they are said premade, then it is indeed a good way to farm crests.Martok wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 2:28 pm

Re: Scenario Queues and Premades
If you are playing solo then you can just queue Discordant Skirmish but if you play in a group then you are putting yourself at the mercy of other groups.

Re: Scenario Queues and Premades
just play "premade" yourself or use discordant if you want to play alone so badly. find a guild, friend group, /5 party, etc. most premades are very beatable even with a 2/2/2 from /5 and using basic chat comms or voice. you'll become a better player too if you decide to finally group up and interact with others.
it is a multiplayer team game with core gameplay systems and game design based around team play (guard, in-party buffs/heals, punting enemy guards via coordination within your own party, etc).
those who choose to be social, join a guild, make friends and play with those comrades don't need to be punished because a bunch of people decide they don't want to play an mmo with other players and queue up and act like it's a single player game and treat other players as if they are npcs along for the ride.
you wouldn't go to battle alone and hope to live, would you? you go with a squad/team/battalion/army and coordinate to ensure a higher chance of success.
this anti-premade/anti-organized gameplay ideology is akin to swimming against the tide and being swallowed up when there is a rescue boat right next to you who's thrown you a rope. you merely choose to handicap yourself and go against the core design of the game.

The team play aspects of this game appear pretty minimal after playing Order for 16 years. Are we playing the same game? What team? Where?

Re: Scenario Queues and Premades
I agree, it would be better if the system had premade vs premade, and PUG vs PUG separate. Even if it meant waiting longer for a pop.
I actually leveled quite a bit from rank 1 to 39 using scenarios. It was very fair and fun, wish I could have slowed the process down.
Being run over by a RR80 premade, not so much fun. After a couple of times, there's no point in queuing again. I'm sure it's the same for both sides.

The team are those 6 individuals that run over/carry you in SCs every week.ASmellyMan wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 6:41 pm The team play aspects of this game appear pretty minimal after playing Order for 16 years. Are we playing the same game? What team? Where?
If you intentionally avoid teams, then yes of course team play appears minimal.

Re: Scenario Queues and Premades
Problem is in people who get stomped but queue anyway and continue to feed premades.
Just don't queue if it's unfair. Premades will meet premades and they will drop SCs too because they can't farm stuff anymore. Then devs will fix that matchmaking.
