Yet another solo QQ thread

Heya,

I been planning to write this for a while, but never got really into it, as its maybe a big topic which really needs careful consideration so it doesnt turn into another WE/WH bad, regen bad, AM/RP bad, gobbos bad thread.

I run too, like so many of us in forums, run mostly solo, and have noticed some calsses with some abilities which really are very powerful in 1v1 environment, but insignificant in larger scale. My wish is to draw attention to these small things to make soloroaming just tad more balanced without messing with main focus of balancing around group comps. I know that 1v1 is and will and should probably be rock-paper-scissor game, but maybe it could be tweaked just a bit.

I havent wrote down everything I have noticed so I will probably forget lots of points, but here are skills I have noticed, and wish to see tweaked a bit. I will try to update the list whenever something crosses my mind, or if there are sensible points from someone else.

for attention, I will open with stealthers :D, this is sure to get the thread lively

WH/WE
: Stealth off time to same as stealth duration. As someone mentioned earlier it has really no bigger value in larger scale, but it would force WH (and WE) to use it more conservatively and choose if they want to seize the easy iniative to fight with opening invisible, OR dodge groups. The iniative can still be seized in fight with fast stealth by popping it when closing in, just requires a lot more coordination.

Another thing is immunity time of declare anathema/agile escape, with 20s immunity from stagger, combined with 4s disarm in melee OR 2 s KD+ repel+morale they can almost stagger again before enemy has chance to hit you. That combined with the extraordinary dmg output these classes have now makes me wonder if this is intentional or not.

Witchbrew reduced uptime, to make it more active cast like the crit mechanics from SL and Mara. it should need some more planning when and how to use it, instead of just firing it off and having it on until you have hit x amount of times

lastly the proc rate of bullet and kisses. This im not entirely sure about, but leave it here to be discussed. With certain specs and dots running WE can ramp up maybe 10+ hits per gcd. with sac stab+both AA hits +kiss procs+weapon procs+ dots and probably even second round of AA causing second round of procs, with fast weapons and AA haste build. Luckily, there is maybe 2-3 WE's using this setup. This is not that major issue, and I'm not even sure what can or should be done about it

White Lion Make pet summon stationary like it is to every other pet class. This would force them to pay more attention to pet, and as the pet is huge part of the WL fights, having no major penalty of getting pet destroyed is really giving this class further boost. By no major penalty I mean that in most cases WL can use morale root, cc cleanse, and charge/flee (or both) away and not be caught until they can summon new lion on the run. with the stationary cast there would be choice to be made, continue without pet, or risking having the cast interrupted and getting caught without cat (it could still be summoned easily in fight, just a minor hinderance, and would make the kiting game that much harder)

Magus Mirror aegis into keg. Magus already has it easy with all the spare renown from not needing Weaponskill and having crit tactic directly tied to tree they spent mastery points anyways into. There is no reason why each magus should run with 10k hp + when they are anyways naturally tanky class with absolute kit for kiting. I know aegis can in theory be shattered, but isnt shatter order first come-first shattered so it will usually take 3 hits to get into aegis, and it can be used well ahead of fight.

IB for love of god let the dot ticks build the grudge :D Having 5 dots in you and still not enough grudge to even cast first runic shield is absolute nightmare. the grudging blow to build grudge was good welcome change!

BO please give the fort weapon the speedproc back! or does it affect the largescale?

Rune/zealot Embrace the warp and Grimnir's shield not usable with harbringer/rune of breaking Zealot has nearly magus level of DMG with access to lifetaps, the dmg reduction combined with the burst is just out of this world. Im not entirely sure if rune has same amount of burst, as most runies play the dot spec and I dont have one myself ,but I assume this is still valid to runie aswell. If you go dps, you have to be more careful.

Engi I think engi is in goos spot now, compared to magus we lack mutating blue fire dmg, but have access to more punt. Personally the speed change of weapons did nerf the dmg output a lot as AA is now badly out of sync with abilities. with 4s speed from bloodlord rifle you could chain up gunblast and AA together for decent amount of hits with drawback of having to stand still for 2 seconds. now the AA is not faster but does not hit as hard anymore due to 3s AA speed (AA is limited by abilities) Its not so huge issue with kiting spec where you use grenades and instacast abilities more.

All pets This is hard one, but having each ranged pet hit through terrain is super annoying

This is what I had for now, im sure I have forgot a lot of things, some of my suggestions might have impact on larger scale which im not aware off. Solo balance should never go over the group balance, except ofc if you are WE/WH then whatever :D

I could spellcheck this with something, but not going to... I hope you understand anyways.

Great post.
None of these are only related to soloq but also the balance tho.
Unfortunately, current balance system do not create a fair and enjoyable experience because of the things you explained above.
I think some of the classes got the power without enough trade-off.
Balance doesn't mean everything is equal so being OP is totally ok and expected but there should be a way to counter it. Balance should provide all classes working together.
