Wl pet damage needs a nerf as well as it can crit for 1k.

Basicly two players in one.

85% ar pen and the best mobility in the game.
Marauder and Choppa has almost the same mobility exept Pounce 45ft 10 seconds cooldown

And I'll even say more, I've reached 78rr bought a sovereign and I'm planning to change class.
Yes, probably WL is the weakest and most nerfed class in game, you should change class to have some fun.

The overpowered state of WL is the elephant in the room.

To claim that there are other classes wich have the same or even better mobility... or any request/ suggestion to make WL even stronger in any way... could only be taken as hardcore trolling...

This was a response to, don't distort the meaning

Cavaleironegro wrote: Tue Jun 03, 2025 11:54 am Why don't you suggest nerfing WL? Or do you not agree with how unbalanced it is? This class has become ridiculous due to how easy it is to do damage using just 1 skill.

I think the general premise of OP is correct (shocking as that is). Melee pets always functioned terribly in the presence of aoe. Loner tactic is just a band aid to a basic design flaw. I would hope that the dps patch address this. Also, make pounce great again.

An owner could take half damage for his pet, essentially guarding it.

There are many solutions to the problem, but I doubt that the dev team will implement anything. When was the last time the game we had seen fundamental changes to the game mechanics?

It seems like they either don't have resources to change anything substantial, or are simply content with shuffling the balance around.

Battlefield wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 11:59 am In scenarios when there a lot of melee dps Lion's pet dies too fast from aoe of Choppa, melee SH, Marauder, aoe of Magus in 5 seconds.

So, don't you think it needs to give some damage reduction to Lion's pet from aoe damage? Or increase healing numbers to pet? Or reduce a cooldown on it?

Because the pet is part of the class, like the Marauder's mutated arm.
This is a niche problem, but buffing wl pet any further will essentially kill any remaining dps spec solo roaming on destro side as it is near impossible to counter even as it is. Only thing i have found is high parry/riposte spec to even counter the pet, but then there is very little to do to prevent wl summoning new one. 15 s cd isnt that long. Wl can kite that 15 s fairly easily and pop new pet on the go.
It is not really a niche problem. Pets were incomplete design in AOR and remains so in RoR.

There are many things in Warhammer online that needed more development from Mythic. You can tell the game was incomplete and rushed to be launched by looking at stuff like PETs and unfinished animations etc ( i.e no arrows on bows). Just look at World of Warcraft at that time for a comparison, pets that were viable in large scale battleground battles. Neither Hunters nor Warlocks (pet classes) had to discard pets because of Area of effect damage. It had a solid system.

For pets to be viable in large scale they must mitigate AOE damage to a large extent and be way tankier overall. Especially melee pets, otherwise you get a situation like with the WL pet who is really only viable in smaller scale fights. WL with pets out are observerd in 6 mans roaming the map or solo players but collapses during any zerg battle. Ranged pets are better off since they're further away from harm but still suffers from the fundamental design flaw.

As for 1vs1 for squishy destro dps vs White lions, the Lion pets are powerful in this situation but is none the less in general one of the most flawed aspects of the game, hence the OP has a point. It has to overcompensate in strong ability to hide the fact that it falls short in so many different ways.

In a well crafted pet system the pet would be viable for all content and not a object of complaint in any situation. Just an extension of the class as it should be. In RoRs most competitive content it is replaced by a tactics(loner). This says it all unfortunately.
It was unfinished because EA wanted to get WAR out before Wotlk expansion which was 1yrs too early on original schedule. But Mythic did alot of things right with Wl and pet as you can see in this vid From Og War

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5n9wm3uHmgk

During first 1 min you can see Wl Pouncing back from KB from bridge + Wl using Pounce when dropping from bridge and taking no fall dmg in the process + his lion is still in his side after 70ft bridge drop which even if pouncing like that was possible in RoR the pet Definetely would have despawned or bugged out in some other way. Pouncing on Keep walls + having pet up there with you, both needs to be possible again in RoR.

Wl didnt have 25% armour pene tactic in aoe attacks in Aor, and 24 cap is the problem not Wl alone. Remove the 25% armour pene tactic on 2 ae skills and change cap back to 9 again and pets will survive. Pets also got every grp buff and aoe hot in the party, except you couldnt guard the pet but everything else also applied to pets in the party like aoe cleanses.

After those changes Wl would become Single Target Reverse Sorcerer with high mobility but aoe is bit below medium but doesnt matter, no one played Wl for his aoe attacks anyway in Aor : D The combat has been nerfed to this lvl it wasnt originally even close to this stripped down and also 25% Slower gcd makes it feel clunky and changes obviously too much things to start mentioning them. It broke the game in many ways
"To clarify, me asking to developers to go test their own changes is not sign of toxicity or anger, but a sign of hope that the people punching in the numbers remain aware of potential consequences and test their own changes"-Teefz
