Witch Elf mainline dps?

Is it viable to run WE with high WS, parry/riposte tactics, parry renown and turn her into a better sustained damage dealer that doesn't rely on stealth ambushes? A lot of the burst would be sacrificed but she wouldn't be as fragile. (For group/premade play).

Not really, you lose too much damage in that spec.

I run WE as the assist DPS in my premades, where I mainly focus on using the Knockdown / Silence / Disarm for group utility, and then doing as much damage as possible to our focus target. With guard you don't need the extra parry or defensive stats as much.

Your role as a witch elf is to provide as much burst DPS as you can, while assisting with knockdowns/silences where needed. Speccing anything other than full str/melee crit will just prove detrimental: Choppas and Marauders are the sustained damage dealers; witch elves are much squishier, and need to get key targets down quicker.

there is no point to spec either WS or parry as a witch elf. you cant expect a cloth armor class to be as tanky as a marauder for example. she doesnt shine with a high combat uptime but with already the highest single target pressure ingame. right now the we provides more burst than any other class and thats what you should play around. everything else would just turn you into a cripple and you would be outscaled by any other mdps when talking about combat uptime and sustain. also parry and riposte is still rng based and the provided "sustain" is more than utter garbage and shouldnt count as such.

There was some on back on live that went full parry regen. They did get kills solo but it was slow I think there is a vid on YouTube but its a spec that makes you worthless vs anything but melee. You will not have the dmg to kill healers or people getting healed. Realistically the spec would work as a troll duel spec but other then that I would not run it.

Imo best all around spec is witchbrew but its currently not able to be run till the level cap goes up.

Witch brew is available in Tier 3 but is it viable without Increased Pain? Though going up the suffering tree gives access to the heal debuff.

Ya ip knock down and magic immunity just too important to give up. Especially when you consider wb gains so much from % dmg which you have almost none of in t3. With taste of blood flanking tovl jewel 5 piece it was common to see wb add 500-600 dmg every gcd and that's not counting other grp increases like sorc infernal gift.

There's no real point because you'll just be doing the same thing a choppa can do, while offering similar/less damage (no crit tactic), having no gap closers, and having less survivability. If you take a WE to a premade, it must be assumed that someone can provide a heal debuff, while you focus solely on dealing insane burst to key targets.

That was actually my video and spec, and it was created for 2 reasons. 1) to beat one Knight I could never beat (I fought him more times than I can count, and just tinkering, but I finally, eventually beat him once in that stupid spec - shout out to Tankbeardz), and 2) to troll at duels. It was 100% useless outside of 1v1 melee vs melee fights, but it was so amusing and memorable just because how many people hated fighting against it.

It was not something I ever used seriously, and I had a damage bonus of... 76, if I remember correctly?
