Authentication error pls help :( :( :(

its the classic authentication error where i cant select no server and after about 24 seconds i get timeout :/

i log in fine and as soon as i open the game it sits in the main menu and after 24 seconds i get the Critical Error Authentication Failed

Did you try to uncheck read only on the game folder? In folder's properties uncheck the read only, after that check properties of any of the files inside to confirm it's not read only anymore.

If that fails you might want to try running the game as an administrator.

Do you have it in "C:\Program Files\" by any chance?

ive done all of the above yes im running it as administrator and i do have the game on C:\Program Files should i move it somewhere else? like Program files(x86)?

Long shot but you could try copying it to different partition like "E:\Program Files\". In general I wouldn't advise to install games on system partition but that's a different topic.

But don't move it, copy it. The best would be to delete it from C:\ and copy paste it again from your laptop.

Did you double check the write permissions on the files inside?

You can log in. Does it mean you can select your character, entering the game etc??

I open the launcher i put my user name and pass i click connect i get into the main menu where its supposed to be handshaking and all but it does nothing the black box is blank and after about 20 seconds i get the critical error message saying Authentication Failed program will now terminate

Well if you enter on client ( Black screen) there not a login server problem.

Could you verify your folder isn't write protected please?
