new player high expectations

Hello all, like all of you probably I am an old war player who longs for the glory days of old in the game that could have been so much more. I was not a subscriber at the time of war shutdown, but I was in on war from beta and for most of its existence. I'm also on vacation right now so I haven't gotten to try out this server, but my hopes are high. From reading these forums I see that only tier 1 is available and up to level 10. While I have read some posts complaining about the lack of more levels and more content, I am actually excited about this most of all. Everyone can level as one and tiers will not be ghost towns. Can't wait to download this and give it a shot and many thanks to the Dev team working on making this badass game possible again. Now what class and faction to chose..........

Welcome. As you mentioned having high expectation, I think you might be disappointed with the current state.

So before you are, when you log on. The game is in alpha and the team is very small. All we can ask is that people have patience and not cry on the forum about stuff that is quite frankly unrealistic and currently not feasible.

After all, it's free and no one has to give money to play.

Lots of stuff doesn't work. That's fine, as long as you don't expect it to.

I've seen some people in-game asking whether it's worth playing in its current state. Only you can answer that for yourself. For me, it's absolutely worth it. The opportunity to recreate my favorite characters and fight over the Gates of Ekrund again is wonderful.

Will it be better when more things work? Of course. But it's been hours of fun for me, personally, already.

Completely understand and look forward to watching the game grow and can't wait to play and help it do so. Honestly if I am able to log in a create my beloved classes of old then my expectations will be fulfilled. Can't wait to run around nordland!

Hopefully 24 hours from now I'll be home and be able to download this! Spent the evening watching videos of the rvr events that have taken place. Those videos came short of bringing tears of joy to my eyes. Been so long since I've played a game that I can't decide what class to roll and i find it funny that the game that finally does it is a game from my past. So many fun classes. WP, WH, RP, Engi, Shaman, zealot, Squig herder, BO literally can't decide. Excuse my giddiness, just an excited gamer.

Most people are very thankful indeed, myself included. The problem is you get some really rotten eggs in the pot and they can really spoil the whole meal x-x
