Ranged Auto Attack Not Work While Strafing?

I've tested this (minimally) on both PvE and PvP. My auto attack won't fire while strafing on my Engie or SH even though I can still use instant cast abilities. Has anyone else noticed this or am I imagining it?

Engineers do not get the benefit of AA while moving, SHs need to have their Spiked Squig to receive this benefit of AA while moving. If you are not receiving your AA while the Spike Squig is out, make a bug tracker.

Engineers do not get the benefit of AA while moving, SHs need to have their Spiked Squig to receive this benefit of AA while moving. If you are not receiving your AA while the Spike Squig is out, make a bug tracker.

Wow I did not know that. Thank you! I figured I was doing something wrong. So Instant turret is basically required for kiting on engie. Prob want to save spiked squig for after Tastes Like Chicken if you expect kiting. Sweetness

Spiked squig additionally give you 5% crit, it's your best squig to have up, change to Gas squig if you expect heavy melee focus. Roaming I actually prefer the Gas squig out, as there are many WLs and WHs. Once you break away switch to Spike.

Also Cleansing Winds is a must for roaming, only real way you will kill a good AM.

Yeah I think roaming with gas out is the correct choice. Currently I'm using all my RR to get WS to about 350. I would love cleansing winds but...costly

More or less what they said, and unfortunately engies have no way to use ranged autos while moving, so you absolutely need insta turret tactic, plus you need it for kds anyway. If only gun turret let you do so...
