You can't compare Magus dots with AM dots simply because they are both very distinct hybrids with different roles. I don't know why peterpan even brought that up nor do I understand why people like to latch on the "AM dots are better than eng/magus dots".

Fair enough. I only replied to his post because i disagreed with what he said.

I just listed my opinion of why the AM dots worked better than the magus. Which imo is because of the one difference. the heal debuff.

Magus: Mutating Blue Fire (516 + 429), Infernal Blast (576, AoE)
AM: Radiant Gaze (204, reduces damage and crit by 5%), Scatter the Winds (552, heal debuff)
Winner: AM because of Heal debuff. If someone else is applying the h-db, then Magus.

The biggest problem with Magus is that his dots get constantly cleansed (group cleanse). This is an issue for order as well, of course.

AM: Radiant Gaze is 552dmg

1)the distance for most of his dot to work(65fts) which need the magus to spec a tactic to improve
2)lack of +25% dmg tactic that all healer has.
3)Magus also need to spec for +crt and it is limited for 1/3 of the skill
4)No lifetap

Can we stop comparing magus with AM's? they're BOTH different hybrids. Can a Magus heal anyone (other than self with SVF tactic)? At the same time, can a AM provide any form of comparable burst? (BoC + FRR + SVF + IFoC/Or your choice of whatever you want to use) No? Then stop comparing the dots. Almost every class has the ability to dot, that doesn't mean ALL of them should be equivalent. Synergy is the key here, not silly "my laser hits harder than your laser so it should be equal" arguments.
