[Warrior Priest] Salvation - FAQ

Hi guys, its nice to be here :D

I logged on this GREAT server 1 week ago, and i'm in need of info about the Salvation Warrior Priest

(level 17 right now)

I’m making this little FAQ ( editable ) in order to help me and hopefully the newcomers too.

Here’s my doubts!

About Mechanics:

1) Which is at the cap level the best way to build Righteous Fury on a Salvation WP?

2) Is there any sense on playing with 2h Hammer for the aoe Detaunt?

About Skills:

1) When Touch of the Divine ( Group Heal ) becomes avaiable, does Divine Aid (single target heal + hot ) turn into a “useless” spell ?

2) Does all the damaging spells of the WP scale with Strenght? Judgment, Smite and Soulfire too?

3) Does Sigmar’s Radiance healing component scale with Willpower?

4) Is Martyr’s Blessing a “realm” heal, capable of heal ALL the friendly targets at 30 feet, or there’s some limitation?

About Tactics:

1) On Divine Warding, spec tact: Does its shield add to itself? Or does the proc only Refresh it?

2) What's overall the best 3 tacts to slot for a Salvation WP?

About Equip:

1) What’s generates more HPS, willpower or crit heal chance?

2) Is OVERALL more effective a Tankish Healer ( armor, tough, wounds ) or a Healing Power healer ( willpower, crit heals ) on Rvr/pvp?

Thanks for your help!

Here’s my doubts!

About Mechanics:

1) Which is at the cap level the best way to build Righteous Fury on a Salvation WP?
8-per-second regen on tomes, Suplication, Smite on groups.

2) Is there any sense on playing with 2h Hammer for the aoe Detaunt?
Very little.

About Skills:

1) When Touch of the Divine ( Group Heal ) becomes avaiable, does Divine Aid (single target heal + hot ) turn into a “useless” spell ?
From what I gather, it largely is. But it is good for purely single-target means.

2) Does all the damaging spells of the WP scale with Strenght? Judgment, Smite and Soulfire too?
I don't believe they do.

3) Does Sigmar’s Radiance healing component scale with Willpower?
No. It scales only with mastery in Grace.

4) Is Martyr’s Blessing a “realm” heal, capable of heal ALL the friendly targets at 30 feet, or there’s some limitation?
Only group members, last I checked.

About Tactics:

1) On Divine Warding, spec tact: Does its shield add to itself? Or does the proc only Refresh it?
The shield can be refreshed, last I checked.

2) What's overall the best 3 tacts to slot for a Salvation WP?
Cleansing Power, Discipline, Refreshing Radiance, Divine Warding, Restorative Burst. I can't say there are any 'best' three. They all have their use.

About Equip:

1) What’s generates more HPS, willpower or crit heal chance?
Willpower for reliability, crit chance for purely higher numbers. Renown for crit chance, talisman for armour. Devastator gear and jewelry provided me with ample Willpower.

2) Is OVERALL more effective a Tankish Healer ( armor, tough, wounds ) or a Healing Power healer ( willpower, crit heals ) on Rvr/pvp?
See above. Salvation is very tanky compared to other healers, including the melee spec for Warrior priests.

Thanks for your help!

Martyrs blessing doesn't heal for a lot, but heals up to 6 people around you within 30 ft, group members or not.

MB is an awesome spell. As said above, it heals targets regardless of party.

Other than that, ThePollie answered perfectly IMO. Only thing I change, is that I use my RR for Deft defender... That extra 20% dodge/disrupt keeps me alive. That and the 2785 armor and(nearly) capped resists... WP's greatest strength as a healer are their survivability. Imo anyways.

Thank you guys so much for the answers guys :D

i've got some more questions about tacts:

Charged Fury:

does it work for each addictional target of Smite? ex. 45 + 10 Rf for the first target and 15 + 10 Rf for all the others one?

Refreshing Radiance:

does it work from Prayer of Devotion procs?

Always pre-HoT if possible. Try to time the HoT just before the initial clash, so you get the most of it.
