That's because these things are easy to get involved, and reward the players for taking the time to experience them. The bosses were challanging and yet engaging on a story level.

PvE questing ultimately is a very solo experience, with alot of reading. Newer MMOs have tons of voice acting work to mitigate the sheer amount of reading that pushes people out of the game.
I am not certain this is completely true.

Back when I played on K.Norn/Azgal, the mere mention of out of PvP activities brought a litany of hate. Then you have an example here who tells "like PvP? No? GTFO" when it should be "like Warhammer Fantasy? No? GTFO". Really, I am just trying to understand. Maybe it's a fool's errand :D .

I personally played WAR (play RoR) for the PvP. If I wanted to play PvE, then I'd play WoW. If I cared that much about Warhammer Fantasy lore (Which I used to, for the record), then I'd read the Fantasy rulesbooks, that literally have tons of lore in them.
Hell, one quick google search got me to the warhammer online wiki, with over 6k pages: Knock yourself out

And even if you are so interested in the lore, why would you want to focus on the media that doesn't include Bretonnia, Lizardmen, or hardly any Vampire Counts and Wood Elves? That's a huge part of the lore missing. But again: Google

But why the hate you ask? Well, because it's a broken and buggy mess compared to WoW, which is what I'm used to. Mobs moving through you, all the way behind you, because you moved one millimeter to the side. Bosses that randomly one-shots the tanks, bosses that randomly resets, random loss of aggro, and awful pathing of the mobs. I've seen it all, and I absolutely dreaded every single second of it. Gunbad? Bastion Stair? Bilerot? Lost Vale? Bloodwrought? TotVL? The one is more broken than the next.

The ignorant red part is what gets to me. WHAT OTHER WARHAMMER FANTASY RPG?

This is WARHAMMER and as such, it should be accesible to anyone. And wanna know why Mythic tried to shoehorn the focus on PvP? Because they failed at what they set out to do(bring Warhammer fully to life). The same as their excuses for (the lack of) balance etc.

If there was even a mod for Skyrim, you can bet i wouldn't be wasting time here. But THERE ISN'T. That is REALITY of the situation. And what else can exist except the reality?
I think the difference of opinion here, or perhaps the difference in fact, is that you feel they tried to shoehorn the PvP into a PvE game, and not the PvE into a PvP game.

In any case, there's no hatred on behalf of the development team on one or the other. We're just prioritizing fixing PvP because there's more diverse content there, and that content is different every day. Some of the staff are actively working on fixing PvE.

Because the rulebooks / novels aren't interactive? IE: they're not games? And I want a WHFB CRPG? I am a pretty sensual person and I NEED physical things. That's why I love how Nick Kyme wrote "the Great Betrayal". Just the right amount of description of things(WHFB novels usually glance over this fml).

If it didn't include High Elves, I'd forget about it. But not only does it include High Elves, it includes Ulthuan as well! A feat never done before! and a large part of the Empire.

edit: I am not talking about YOU the devs. I am talking about the WAR playerbase in its widest meaning.

The whole game was rushed and shoehorned lol!

I could quote Paracelsus again, but I won't. I swear it, that guy said the ultimate truth when it comes to all aspects of life, let alone apothecary / medical things.

I dunno, I enjoy the questing. I think the quests are better written than most MMOs, and it feels pretty Warhammery. Like the Salzenmund quests in t1: corrupting the city from within, preying on human greed and lust and religious zealotry to eventually bring about the fall of this city. It was cool and immersive IMO.

That is correlation, not identity or causation. Does Age of Conan seem Unicorn silly to you?
No, more like retarded. AoC have too much boobs and nudity stuff. I played it long time ago.

This is what I was about. Then the pure experience of riding a horse(or running) through the steppes of Ellyrion, getting Orcapulted etc on Mt.Bloodhorn...you can't get this anywhere else.

As to you mr.dev: I dislike Dan Abnett. Now feel free to shoot me for heresy. The intro to Ravenor was so thick and convoluted that I simply gave up. Which is a shame for Ravenor is basically "US Marshalls" in space. Should be a fun read. Also, I fully understand what is your task(? is this the correct word ?):

To FULLY restore WAR, one step at a time while providing max enjoyment to the end users. And seeing how varied and loved PvP was in WAR(not to mention most likely easier to code)...I can't blame you. And I won't. That'd be simply stupid and entitled. I'll just wait lol. It pays off to wait for good things.

edit: lol Partizan. And what are the Witch Elves? Nuns lol? Chaste? ...it's just as real and gritty, just in a way you don't like. Which is fine. But to link AoC to WoW or the koreans...sorry, but I must:

orly
