The CE has the great art books and diecast mini so it's still valuable -- or at least has value ;)

The only value in buying the vanilla version of the game as the OP did was maybe he thought to save some download time and install right from CD if he got it on the cheap. But in this case the version of the game on disk is not up to date and therefore not playable.
