Just set up a sequence, where you "auto-do" everything: Enemies isn't snared? Insta-snare! Enemy isn't on immunity timer? Knockdown! Have a DoT ability with no cd? Np, just make an artificial cd and make NB cast another ability if the dot is still up on keypress! Need to switch stance to use a certain ability? 1 button: DONE! Have a certain amount of HP, and want to play more defensive? Np, NB can do it all!
It removes thought, decision making, skill, reaction time, and knowledge from combat. I don't even have to know what ANY buff or debuff does: NB fixes it all, instantly. Just spam the **** out of one button and you're automatically maximized in DPS/HPS/Mitigation/buffing/debuffing/cleansing etc etc.
You can in theory, play as well as with this addon, just without it. But considering human error in combat? Yeah.... No, not gonna happen. You might pull it off once in a while, but in general with actual challenging combats where you actually have to do your best, there's no way you can not make a single mistake.
It's good as a cheat. Plain and simple.
pretty much this. great post
But like in other games, RoR has different difficult levels.
For example an addon like enemy (I use this on my heal-toons) gives you informations (especially about range) that otherwise are difficult to find out. It has nothing to do with skill, it is simply easy mode.
With nerfed buttons its seemed that the different skills you have don´t matter anymore. I consider this as very easy mode.
It helps people that otherwise maybe have problems to compete. All in all the balance is ok, so it is maybe not that big problem. People that want to play on normal difficulty, can play without addons.
But I would be happy to see a RoR without the ability to use any addon, except gimmick addon (like deathblow for example).
