What made up numbers? It doesn't take a genius to figure out why pull is bad in 6vs6. But i would love to hear your argument why its good.

I dont know what our designation is and really , I dont care, having played Magus now for some days, I have to say that it is one of the funniest class I have played so far and our damage output in the long run is staggering, sure healers can cleanse and what not, but that really dont matter, I still get kills in SC, I do a shitload of damage there also.Deathcakes wrote:So I remember playing Magus on live for a little bit but I never really got the hang of it.
I believe that ranged careers are my calling so I'm ready to give this career another chance.
But before I do, I'd very much like to ask for your input as to what the heck I'm supposed to do?
Magi are RDPS - I'm supposed to cause pain, death and destruction to my enemies from a distance, got it!
But AFAIK Magus and Engineers are both referred to as "Utility RDPS". Well, what does that really mean and how do I apply it in-game?
I mainly played a Sorcerer on live so I'd appreciate if perhaps someone could explain some contrasts between the two!
Thanks in advance!
I have tried rift but tbh I do not like it as that requires guard and heal to be effective, and I seldom recieve guard from tanks, healers though, do recognize our value (luckily)
I am into full change (mist) and use only tactics from the change tree, recently I have started soloing in RvR meaning I do not run with a wb, but you wont see me come floating alone either

Just my two cents.
Good in roaming, gank bands and keep fights.
Dots may be cleansable, but when people run in postern, and they die once inside, you aprreciate the work of a magus. True, Sorc does it better, bot does only that. Rifting is not only useful in keep defenses or assaults. In open rvr allowing the wb to do some quick and effortless kills may do a big difference. Sure as hell it's not an easy set up. Needs guard from tank, armor talis and renown used for cleansing wind, but having it or not is a HUGE difference for the final result. Specially when the Tavern is too crowded. And, as a Chosen, I LOVE AP REGEN!
(Till t4, then you can die agonizing in the Warp because the gods granted me their full power).

If you 'mouse-drive' and use Ravzar's Keymap for Efficiency (lose the ADSW and integrate with QAS; posted on live forums years ago) Magus is incredible (any class becomes a beast with that keymap and mouse-driving). But there have been 'clickers' who kick ass too (Fistandantulus from live, leader of Inquisito, Badlands). Haven't seen/gamed along side of Voidmaster in forever, but remember many SCs and sieges where he was the deciding factor in victory. Neutrino and Nidwin are sheer terrors on discs as well.

Not sure how changing keybinds can negate a class having fundamental flaws inherent with it's design..

Only 1 mMgus that ever scared me that I can remember now and that was Janpo, Junpo something like that from the guild Moonlapse.

Re: [Magus] What makes a good Magus?
Magus sucks and you should never roll or play one. Roll a Sorc or a Marauder as you'll be better of.
The only good support we give is logging in during events when order players have to kill 20 Magus.
I've told you so don't come back whining on the forums in a couple of months once T4 up and running and kickin arse.
Magus isn't a toon or playing style.
Magus is a religion made for the true believers only!
Now all repeat after me
NERF MAGUS!

I say stick to Magus if you really want to play one. Once T4 releases, devs will start balancing classes and im 99% sure Magus/engies will be buffed.
