He is a Database Developer, he has access to more than a gm, his alt said those words to me "f*ck off asshole" and I still have screenshots to prove it, I don't care about your opinion on this matter anyway It happened weeks ago, it's just on topic to this thread, power abuse and deceit.

He is a database developer meaning he has high standing within your team therefor can easily make people disappear with bans like what happened to me, clearly you and this power abuser are cut from the same cloth.

If myself or anyone else logged on now and started spamming people with whispers saying "**** off asshole" how quickly do you think we would get a ban? Exactly.

Words cannot describe how much of a jerk mindmelt is. I'm glad he's no longer a part of this community. The man must have some serious psychological problems and I wouldn't be surprised if he was a psychopath.

My only real concern about the topic of this thread is the potential for GM's or Dev's getting angry in the heat of the moment and lashing out with a ban, the abuse of power described may well be incidents of this.

I do not know if it is already the case but if not i think if a GM or Dev has an incident in which they are a part of the event (ie they are a participant in the game at the time) then they should not deal with the matter themselves as they are not unbiased in that situation, a GM who is not a part of that event should be the one who arbitrates any ban if warranted.

My brother was playing recently and had an incident where a dev (torq actually i believe) thought he was being trolled by my brother, and whilst he DIDNT ban him and i would like to point out actually went on to help my brother with friendly advice for gearing his Chosen, it still made me wonder if this kind of thing where a dev or GM playing could get angry and lash out and ban someone, it would be nice to have rules in place (as i said if not already in place) so that those in the event could not do it. If a ban is warranted then im sure the 2nd GM would agree anyhow and it would happen

Just to add this was not intended as a slight towards Torq, he sounds a great guy according to my brother and very helpful, i only wanted to highlight the 'potential' for abuse and a possible preventative measure

The rules of the appeals forum state that you have the right to have your appeal judged by different members of staff than the issuer, to deal with the potential for this very problem.

And yes, Yahweh will be back. He always comes back. Thankfully, he's not very intelligent, which is why he keeps getting caught.

He has served to illustrate something though. People willing to lie about the actions of the GMs are out there... and had Yahweh not been stupid enough to expose himself, there would no doubt be people out there who would have trusted in his lies.

So with that in mind, that until the evidence is so insurmountable that you will just apply a ban yourself and call it a day, do you still believe a public notice area is required?

All I have seen from this and the area's where Aza has tried and put forth a way for every dev/GM to be publicly accountable, the vitriole towards GMs seems to increase. Giving these people a place to put their lies might be helpful in dealing with them, but as you say. If they were halfway smart, they wouldn't get caught. And would just continue to spread their lies and crap.

I know, from living in a state where violent crime has fallen almost every year for decades, that people are generally scared of violence. Simply cause it is so often reported. The fact that they have never experienced it, or seen it is moot. They here about it all the god damned time.

Unless people are posting in the forum or running their mouth in chat... There is no perceived issued, cause there is no issue. Those attempting to call you guys out either entirely ignore the arguements put forth, or just lie.

Lastly, Wtf people. Devs and GMs are humans too. If you poke them enough times you are gonna get a **** off Asshole. Run with the big dogs and you might get bit. These people aren't paid professionals whose company requires your return custom. By and large, they are highly experienced War players themselves. How many War players don't have a bit of saltiness in 'em?
