Re: Nerfed buttons
I never said WOW was better, I merely used that to explain what games I have played before. I too played a Shaman, I did also play a rogue. I played only for a few weeks of Wrath, mostly vanilla and BC. Expansions ruined the game for me.Razid1987 wrote:Wait, you played WoW and you're complaining about having too many abilities HERE?
All I am saying is some people dislike how many abilities we have, and itll only get worse with T4. So Nerfed buttons is merely a way to clear the clutter, to put 2 or 3 abilities on 1 button. Usually if I use NB like this, ill throw a CD ability over a spammable ability. For instance, on Mara for a while I was throwing wounds debuff > Toughness debuff since I usually apply wounds first and then its on CD for a bit to apply the toughness. It isnt mindless as I have to actively watch for the wounds debuff to apply, and then toughness.
I have since removed them because I was having issues with toughness showing active only until I get within melee and then it would swap to wounds, but this is merely an example which allowed me to condense my bars down a bit. Untimely the control for me is worth more buttons but ideally I wouldnt need this many... Its actually a BIG turn off for many people who play games like Neverwinter, or heck, any MOBA game with a simplistic UI where the skill is more about how you play and how you progress your character and strategy over a button memorization mash.
This is just my opinion and in my opinion I think WAR would do better with ~75% of the current buttons. If NB worked better (or I knew how to use it better) it would probably work perfect for me.

Re: Nerfed buttons
It seems that way, but it isn't that way, at least not for me. My reason for disliking the addon is because I have used it myself, and I know what it can do. The potential benefit of the addon is undeniable. And to reduce someone argument to "crying" is pretty condescending, imo.Morf wrote:Cimba is spot on, it just seems to me its another "i lost they must be using NB", same situation when ppl cry xrealmers caused them to lose.
For the record, I'm not crying about anything. I just find it ridiculous that this even is a controversial topic. And here I'm not talking about how some people buff a few abilities into a single key. Forget that. I couldn't honestly care less. What I care about, is what I've expressed multiple times in this thead, which is when people use NB to it's "full potential".
The majority? Do you have a source for this information? How many did you ask? Was it just your guild? And even if that is the case, then that ultimately means that some people do use NB to it's "full potential". Fact of the matter is, that we simply don't know how many use it, how many only use it for small things, and how many use it for almost everything.Morf wrote:Razid the majority of players who use NB use it to save key space, sure there are some ppl who set conditions so they are not using a kd or punt on immune targets, using disarm on a wh when u parry, using health pots when on low health but the majority of the time they hinder you rather then actually benefit you.
I would be totally fine with NB being removed if there was another addon that let me put multiple skills on 1 key, i dont need the condition check or anything else.
And I'm not blaming NB for losing. Never have and never will. But I still don't like that addon or want it to be used, because I think this game should be based on skill (Among other things, like gear), which is what, when NB is used to it's "full potential", completely removed from the gameplay.
The irony of that suggestion is, that because I tried it, I found out what it was able to do, made me dislike it so much. I didn't know much about it before. All I knew about it before, was just rumors and people's opinions. I then tried it, and made my own opinion - It should be no where near this game. Unfortunately, I don't even think the Devs could ban it, even if they wanted to. So I guess it makes little difference in the end, what the community thinks of it.Morf wrote:Again i suggest for some ppl to try it, set a string with conditions and see if it magically makes you an amazing player.
Re: Nerfed buttons
Spoiler:
Thats fair enough and i appreciate your comments but i still believe it hinders you more then it benefits you.
As i said i only use it to make things less awkward, i dont bother with conditions and what not because i find different situations call for different rotations and gameplay.
You said you tried it and found out what it was able to do but do you not think that you could acheive the same outcome without it ? Thats my issue, ppl seem to think it will give you an advantage over players who dont use it when i have found it to be the complete opposite, a wh disarming a sorc because they parried an aa for example or someone using there pots when on 20% health when the enemy had 1% hp left.
This isnt the only addon which could be seen to give an advantage over players who do not use it and as i said (in your case it is different because you said you have tried it and dug deep) in most cases its "i lost they must be using NB", just another excuse.
By all means get rid of the conditions and what not but allow us to put more then 1 skill on a single key.
PS if i mained an IB i dont think i could play it without NB, mainly because i dont use any sort of gaming mouse to make my live easier.

Yeah, everyone and their mother is running it because they like being handicapped and being in a losing situation from the get go.
Or maybe its you the one who is talking major bullshit right now after accusing everyone of crying.
And other people use it to make decision for them, which is the whole point of people being against the addon in the first place, you may be not using it for that but it can be used for that and unless you realize that is the whole argument against its use, dont bother defending it.Morf wrote:As i said i only use it to make things less awkward, i dont bother with conditions and what not because i find different situations call for different rotations and gameplay.

Its getting more hilarious to read.
"I can't play this class without NB, because i can't press few freaking buttons more and I messed my binds"
"I can't play this game without NB, because I can't press right button at the right time".
35 level is already T4, there will be few skills more at 40. Why don't you just delete this addon and learn how to play this game with your hands damn it and without software which is exploit. This is ridiculous.

Devs could in theory, change something in game to mess this NB up and why not.Razid1987 wrote: I then tried it, and made my own opinion - It should be no where near this game. You dont seem to understand or you are one of the ppl i described that claim cheat/exploit when they lose.PartizanRUS wrote:Its getting more hilarious to read.

Some of us dont play with a gaming mouse, some of us dont play with a mouse at all, having a few less keys makes it less awkward, is it doable without ? absolutely,
I see no problem at all with how i use it, putting 2 dots on 1 key and honestly in some situations it is a downfall for me. So i use like 30 keys instead of 31, that is not an exploit at all !
Is it also an exploit to have buffhead display your hots, heal debuff, guard, certain debuffs ?

Re: Nerfed buttons
the majority use the conditional filters AND that is problem
If ppl stop using NB they will need more time to used to their characters rotation, more time to really master the class that they play, less time to xrealming and alting.
Now you make billions of mdps/rdps/tanks set similar alike NB sequences and whine that the game is dull, repetative and easy to play WHILE you didnt really played your characters

Using NB doesnt give you an advantage over ppl who dont use it, its as simple as that and in most cases it will hinder you more then help you, not sure why its so hard for some ppl to understand. If you are terrible and decide to use NB you will still be terrible.
Any excuse to justify losing.
