in tier 4 you wont see that, because you want those objectives really badly. in tier 3 and 2 you can experience it sometimes.... but tier 1 is the worst tier if you want hard engage.

Pretty pretentious to infer how a game is from the first tier xD
even in other tier it s the same...
T2(empire) : we (order) "CHASE" them to their WC , then we stop and run back to keep "CHASED" by them (destro) , then they stop and we go again , rinse repeat till a group of 4-5 persons decide they will take matter in their own hands

T3 is the same .

We need something that force people to fight . Evenin SC it s so pathetic , they stand at their rez point behind guard and the other faction is crusing/chilling in front of the rez point .

I dont pvp anymore , i am just doing quests till legion come out or another MMO better then WoW

The lower tier maps are just a bit rammed at the moment. Its usually parties or soloers trying to avoid the zerg. Removing a flag and having everyone stay in emp for their whole t1 turned it into wc ping pong. Fly over to elf or dwarf if you want to meet smalescale.

Yea, that zerg from WC to WC makes me want to headbutt some wall framing.

It seems to happen when a few things happen together: A, no real leadership amongst the players/WBs, B, a large enough enemy force that taking the zone would be moderately difficult, C, WBs have already wiped while tryin to take Keeps, or D, mass DCs have killed anyones incentive to have a real fight.

I don't understand it even though however. I have seen order farming destro, with dessie have 200%+ AAO, and then order fleeing back to their keep. Trying to get some destro to come out so that order can turn around and zerg back to get some kills. Rinse and Repeat. It is trully mind numbing.

My biggest gripe however, was on Keep takes or BO takes, when one side will just sit there instead of attacking. You have tanks/MDPS/etc all chillin on the back lines with the door open, refusing to charge for some unknown reason. Especially in the current game, cap is 35/40. Wtf do you care about "feeding renown" to the enemy?

I HOPE that T4 will help to fix this. The large multiple zone battles, trying to stop the other side from locking an entire zone, better abilities and gear, etc etc. Also the fact that so many players will be returning for T4, and alot of them "skilled" and/or "organized" should see better fights.

One can hope anyways.

had many great 1v1's and small group battles in dwarf rvr. People trying to farm the lair boss provide a decent stream of fights on the small scale.

Problem with SC's is alot of people lose heart quickly, and don't want to get beaten badly. So if the secondary team is absolute crap, you will find people afk it or str8 up leave the SC. which I absolutely hate.

Yeah thats just tier 1 pvp. There are no keeps, small maps, and only 3 BOs to take that are easy to lock.

Also, since people are low levels, there is very little in variation of builds. There is no heal depression, very little control. Noone has any crazy burst damage to "nuke" someone. So nearly everything is a coordinated effort or pure zerg (mostly latter).

In T2 it gets better with more BOs, bigger maps and Keep defenses. T3 is the same as T2 slightly bigger.

Usually what happens for open world (RvR) is one warband will start taking BOs, the enemy will "rally" at the keep and form a defensive group and wait for the offensive warband to attack. Once they attack its a pretty epic battle. They either whittle down the keep door and get inside and wipe the Lord there and win, or the defense will excel and kicking them so hard, part of the warband logs off, giving the advantage to the defensive team who then goes offensive and tries to take the keep.

In SCs there can be some of this too, an initial standoff at mid until someone makes a move. Noone wants to be the first one to move in, even tanks, because they dont know if they will be healed or not. At the current moment MOST of the good players with max gear are on alts messing around waiting until tier 4 is released, Which means the GOOD healers are not playing and people who normally dont play healers, are probably playing a DPS shaman or AM....

So the game is in a weird state atm.

USUALLY speaking RVR is mostly an offensive zerg hitting BOs and a Keep that is defended by a small # of players who have AAO and pick off kills. Which is nothing like T1 where 50% of the time theres an offensive group that pushed everyone back to their warcamp then sits there waiting for the tables to turn trying to pick off 1 player at a time.... T1 is rather dull IMO, Open world doesnt get fun until T2 atleast.

It's a frustrating thing. Being in a warband, being a healer, and watching everyone run until I become the front line. Really? It's a f***ing game. No penalties for dying, except some strange hit to the ego some people get. Run away and just die in a different place. Stand and fight and maybe, just maybe you'll kill someone and accomplish something.
Order only. Just High Elves.

It is mostly about epeen. You should have seen when Dammaz Kron addon got introduced (keeps track who killed who and etc.) and people then barely left the warcamp in fear of dying.

Also might be the fact of everyone and their dogs playing ranged dps which warrants sidestrafe running away to begin with. With no Quick Escape or Odjira etc. it is hard to circle kite melee to begin with.

Yup it`s amazing how many are afraid of getting killed in a game where you suffer no penalty for getting killed.

It`s not like it`s a FFA game where you can kill anyone anywhere and loot coin or items off there corpse. Even the old EQ Zek servers where more hardcore than here , where each pvp server had a different rule set, race based , Deity based, Alignment based, and FFA.

first one to the corpse that did damage to you could loot one item not in a bag, not no drop, and that wasn`t in a weapon slot plus all cash on your toon. so most tried to keep cash banked

plus if a mob got the killing blow you could lose exp or even your lvl, and you had to run back to your corpse naked to get your gear back.

Even Ultima Online death was more serious than here . really no reason to be afraid to die in a game that has no penalty for dying.
