Can't Load game (New Player - Read all the tutorials) - W10?

-This happens when the server is laggy

Check the website first if the server is down or other people have this problem too.

Trying to get this to work so I can join some clan mates.

So, I've followed all the tutorial steps (except for those that didn't seem to apply to me)

I threw the launcher in with the torrent download and then I registered a new account.

I typed in my password/login and then clicked connect. I get the opening "Warhammer etc etc" pop up (it's not full screen) and expect the cinematics or whatever that comes next to follow it... and yet that screen closes and nothing else happens.

I've tried running "As admin".

I've not tried the hotspot shield SVN but it doesn't seem to be a connection issue unless I'm mistaken? I checked the server status and have search around the forum to no avail unless my issue is a common one and I just can't recognize it.

Verify the folder with the warhammer client in it is not readonly.

Im running windows 10, I am unable to remove the checkbox next to the read only on the folders (but all my files say they are NOT read only).

Reading online told me to try manually changing that on cmd prompt which DID NOT change ANYTHING. Further reading online has told me that the checkbox next to read only is AUTOMATICALLY on all folders in windows 10 but doesn't actually affect anything...

I tried attrib -r +s (which makes it a system file in cmd prompt) but to no avail, for when I do THAT I actually get an error message when opening up the launcher that the files can't be written..) when I remove that I get no error, just a crash after it starts to load.


For clarification - my security settings (for my user/admin AND system) all show I have full control over the files and folders.

I'm about to give up because I've been modding and playing games since 1994 and this... seems to be unfixable.

Make sure you run cmd in admin mode or you won't be able to use attrib.

with all due respect either you don't understand what I've written or you did not read it.

Changing the ATTRIBUTES (which I DID) only gave me an error when i started up the launcher- I could then also click on the launch and the same issue (crashing after the logo screen) would happen.

Error unpacking:

Which indicates that I WAS able to change the attributes but that didn't fix any problem and in fact created an entirely new and different one. Why?

Because the folders ARE writable BEFORE changing the attribute to system.

It's making me think this issue is entirely unrelated to writing/reading and instead something completely different, yet all the logs are empty so I am having a helluva time figuring it out. (I've modded tons of games before and even have launched one used by hundreds of thousands of people, but have never used a modded mmo before so these issues are a bit out of my bailiwick)

I have read your posts and as someone has said it looks a lot like the access stuff.

You wrote Torrent download. So you downloaded the game over the Torrent one, not the diect mega upload thing?

I'm not sure if this is outdated, but I think the direct downloaded version is to be prefered.
Mayebe you should try to download that one.

Yeah my clan recommended the torrent for quick download.

I can try the other one but they said there were issues downloading it.
