I know it's not the question regarding armor sets, but more like T4.
Is it settled, which Ranks and Renown Ranks will be maximum?

Re: [DEVELOPER PREVIEW] The Tier 4 Sets
Maybe this has been answered and i havent seen it. will current emblems and medallions be able to convert toward the new gear like in live?

Re: [DEVELOPER PREVIEW] The Tier 4 Sets
I would assume the usual 5:1 ratio would apply for Soliders to Officer medallions.Olszewski wrote:Maybe this has been answered and i havent seen it. will current emblems and medallions be able to convert toward the new gear like in live?
I'm assuming that Crests (Conqueror, Invader etc) would have to be obtained from drops and would not be able to be obtained from Medallions (just as on Live).

Re: [DEVELOPER PREVIEW] The Tier 4 Sets
Lets hope for a possible answer from the team. assuming can be bad. Ive heard of a wipe of emblems and medallions in the past releasing of lower tiers. please take no offense Abolition : ).

Re: [DEVELOPER PREVIEW] The Tier 4 Sets
I,too, and many other people as well I assume, would be interested to know about the possible conversions of medallions and emblems in T4.
Re: [DEVELOPER PREVIEW] The Tier 4 Sets
I don't think they have even decided yet. It's a delicate issue as some people have thousands of sc emblems just lying around which is something of a problem (although not to major imo) as they could instantly guy the full set. On the other hand all those play time rewards go to waste if there is no conversion.
Really I think there should be a conversion because at most it will be about a weeks head start over other players, which is not a whole lot in the grand scheme of things.

There are no plans at the moment to change the exchange rate for medallions, nor to wipe them. However, we may also elect to just not make the exchange available at all, for a period of time. We are discussing options, and increasing the exchange rate is not off the table.Olszewski wrote:Lets hope for a possible answer from the team. assuming can be bad. The player with the most soldier's emblems on the server has enough to buy their weapons and the full Mercenary set on launch. The player with the most soldier's medallions has just barely enough to buy their full Annihilator set. On one hand, we understand that players have been saving up with the intention to buy their equipment immediately with the launch of Tier 4. On the other hand, we are trying to determine where we want our gear progression rate to be, and how spiky we want the power gaps to be for those first few weeks. I could talk more on this, but I won't - it suffices to say that Tier 4 is all we will have, for a very long time.

Tough thing to weigh, I dont envy your shoes. Thinking selfishly, I want to say "I saved hard for my medallions!" On the other hand, I know EXACTLY what happens when players get all their gear, they burn out quicker and dont play as much.Genisaurus wrote:There are no plans at the moment to change the exchange rate for medallions, nor to wipe them. When I make alts and I "NEED" to get 5/5 set I farm SCs/RVR like a MAD MAN to get what I need, then once I have everything, I play MUCH less or even move onto another alt.
I guess my only weigh in on this would be to elect for a period of time where the conversion would be 10:1 rather than 5:1. Say for the first month of T4, conversion is double - meaning even the most stocked up player wont have enough. If enough length of time, most players wont want to wait to buy things, but it wont hurt progression for newer players later down the road who should be able to exchange 5:1. So call it 1 month, 2 months, you guys decide. This still gives advantage for those that saved, so they dont feel TOTALLY screwed over, as they still get an advantage, however doesnt allow anyone to have EVERYTHING come day 1.
I think this will extend the amount of time this content lasts.
Another alternative/addition you could consider, is announce a 10:1 for 1 month after t4 sets release, but consider a gradual roll out of gear. So Ruin rolls out for 2 weeks, THEN the other two sets release @ 10:1 conversion rate. This gets people who dont want to wait, to farm Ruin gear, then when others sets release, people will trade 10:1 for 1-2 months, then the game steps into its "normal" zone of being 5:1 etc etc. I would EVEN withhold the T4 gloves/boots from dropping as well until the time that currency drops to 5:1 (1-2 months after release).
I think creating a gradual release of T4 might actually be better as you gives players carrots over time to chase, rather than many carrots all upfront which then everyone B-lines for the BIS gear and then cuts back their playtime once they have it.
Thinking long term, and removing my own personal feelings, this is what makes the most sense from a game perspective, to generate the highest population during T4 and giving players the most for the content being released.
