Eh... i got 5 medals for zone lock, without actually engaging RvR or keep assault. Did not spot the exact moment for i've been doing PQs (i'm a tank - need ruin more than ani), but i'm pretty sure i had 59 medallions, yet now there are 64.
Somewhat similiar to afk-on-PQ-thing and now my idea to concentrate on ani set, since i can't earn ruin, does not look good anymore...

Re: Ruin Gear Wipe
sy but
1- is not a real reason, k you dont need if you don't want but that's not a reason by itself if you can do something and require very little effort (and i mean really low effort as remove 1 line from loot table) do that ! which i belive it could had been done-> for exemple temp disable the drop and then with full calm look at it when you had time.
2- there where no need for gm to sit around or for dev to rework so much the roll(which anyway is really bad sy , you need to re look at it again)
-a- for ppl passing by a check that requrie presence from when step 1 end to end of last step
-b-for pure afkers aggressive log out timer-> 2 min while in pq/sc--> no movement + damage / heal ( this was in work at anytime in live to prevent ppl afk in place like sc etc)
-b-2 if not they are botting = ban
-b-3 ppl manually afking that check every 2 min are the only holes and it could had been solved with soft change to contribution rather than this big one change.
-b-4 etc im sure you could had up with something else, i am indeed praising you cos i see how much effort you put in ror and i see that you are good depsite the difficulties of the client, so it's just i dont get how ,at this point of development, other solution could had not be implemented.
3- they had more time than us as the rvr farming is going on from the first day while the afk at pq started hard only the third day after the patch, but k i guess ; at least i know that this annihilator farm is not being ingored and only ruin got punished.
4-depend
end-
In your place i would had disable the ruin drop since you told in patch notes that issues could raise due the t4 relase, you could had simply disable ruin drop when the problem popped the first time, and the wipe could had been avoided directly, it would had been the same and ppl had not spent time over something that got wipe. And i do not mean only play but also test. Hopping that wipe after wipe the bad mentality would stop by punish ppl that do stuff fine is crazy, you need to realise that! you cannot just pretend you gave ppl the chance to behaviour nice. There were alredy some ppl that were doing that please stop hitting them. Instead wipe disable the source of the problem, then track down exploiter etc then re-enable fixed it, dosen't matter how many time you require you can take all the time you want, it would had been better in any case.
Then it depend, in case of dup of course a wipe may also be better but in the specific case of the chest roll the influx of gold bags would had been the same if those player would had played instead being afk....the only negative aspect of this behaviour was g-bag going to wrong ppl and not g-bags dropping aka there were no need for wipe.

Please change the system to
1. Reward Participation in all stages
2. Count number of used abilities instead of damage or heals which favors builds and certain classes
3. Counting the number of enemies you have been in combat with

Would be nice with something similar in SCs so ppl afk = 0 emblems / xp / renonwnBozzax wrote:Please change the system to

Same for RvR no abilities used = no rewards
Counting ability uses would be superior to damage or heals. It favors being there and being active regardless of role

Re: Ruin Gear Wipe
In the live game, I'm pretty sure that contribution at PQs was based on experience points gained, with experience points distributed fairly equally to all members of the group, regardless of role. The contribution might have been boosted if you were in a group. Why not do the same here?
Solo or groups of afk'ers should not receive experience and so would not get a roll on the loot.
You could also set up an RNG system where contribution plays such a large part in the roll that only people with the top few contributions have a chance of getting a gold bag. For example, the top 6 contributors would receive bonuses of +500, +400, +300, +200, +100, and +50. No one else would receive a bonus. The roll would have a maximum value 300. In this situation, assuming there was only 1 gold bag, only the top 3 contributors would have a chance of winning the bag.

Re: Ruin Gear Wipe
I think it's time to take a step back and take some perspective.
If you grinded PQs for hours on end, only to lose your Ruin gear in the wipe, it sucks. I get that. I also get that you spent a good chunk of time on this, time that is now lost.
However, spare a thought for the Devs and others of the team, many of whom are spending 40+ hours a week of their own time, unpaid and by their own choice in order to resurrect a game that you love playing. Errors will be made in the process, but that's the definition of an alpha.
I understand the frustration of players, but I can imagine that Devs are even more frustrated for putting all their work in and only being badgered at every corner by the player base. I am not saying that we should give the Devs a free pass,it's good to be critical, but please do so in a constructive manner and keep their volunteer status in mind.

Re: Ruin Gear Wipe
We should all be happy because how efficient it was handled.
1. T4 opens with ruin set obtainable as loot for PQ's.
2. The playerbase test if everything is working fine and as intended.
3. Bug spotted and more of the playerbase participate in the global PQ not working as intended bug test (doing the PQ the normal way, AFK leeching, ...)
4. Bug reported so staff is aware of it and can investigate
5. Problem identified on code level and fix on the way.
6. Issue fixed with a new system that will be changed, adapted and improved in the future.
7. Wipe of what needed to be wiped
8. Playerbase start testing the PQ's again
The good thing when you have such a playerbase as ours is that it doesn't take ages to get "what's not working as intended" spotted.
Anyway,
good job RoR staff and you made the right decision. Meanwhile my excuses for all my fellow alpha testers (read those freaking jerks) but you have to admit that in some way they aren't completely useless after all.

Anyway its good that stuff got wiped and it surely surely will happen again. Maybe even in larger scales. I just dont understand why ppl dont even think about keeping some backup gear at all. Thats like the most basic stuff to do in fact.
