Try replacing your data.myp with this version.
can you add this to one of the stickies and/or the faq? it seems the file for one of the downloads is corrupted. md5 checksums:

Code: Select all

a955069343fc02dbf088b4eb8741b106  data.myp
135c3200077878a84e7b66079892b782  data.myp.bak

This is a current bug. I don't have a fix for you unfortunately, so will have to wait for either a restart where it might work or wait for further information.

Remove read only on the game folder.
Azarael wrote: Access was denied to the path or file WAR.exe!

Remove the write-protection (right click the game folder -> properties -> disable read-only) from all the files in the WAR folder and try again. You may also try running the launcher with Administrator privileges.

If you used the torrent to download the game, the torrent application may still be using the files. Either copy the entire WAR folder to a new location (if you wish to continue supporting the torrent), or move the entire WAR folder to another location to break access to the torrent.

Just tried to connect for the first time and got this message.

"Error starting: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Users\Mister Fergie\Downloads\WAR.exe'.
File name: 'C:\Users\Mister Fergie\Downloads\WAR.exe'

at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access)
at RoRLauncher.Hash.GetMd5HashFromFile(String fileName)
at RoRLauncher.Client.patchExe()
at RoRLauncher.Client.Handle(PacketIn packet)"

I hope this is the right place to post this. Could anyone give me a heads up as to how t fix this?

Cheers

For troubleshooting issues this forum topic is usually where to post it. However, you need to add the launcher inside the game folder. It can't find War.exe because you've not put the RoR launcher inside the game folder.

It will sometimes flash the warhammer symbol at me as if it is going to load the game. Usually the screen will flash black for a second and nothing happens afterwards.
I have placed the RoRlauncher into the Warhammer folder.

Error starting: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Users\James\Desktop\WAR.exe'.
File name: 'C:\Users\James\Desktop\WAR.exe'

at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access)
at RoRLauncher.Hash.GetMd5HashFromFile(String fileName)
at RoRLauncher.Client.patchExe()
at RoRLauncher.Client.Handle(PacketIn packet)

You need to put the Return of Reckoning launcher inside your game folder. Only use the RoR launcher to play the game ;)
